"Not Another Black Life" (never heard of them before) is to hold a protest to the killing of Regis Korchinski Paquet at the hands of the police today at Christie Pitts.
Yes.Exactly, why would police just arbitrarily just throw a woman off a balcony? It was just an unfortunate turn of events.
Yes.
Black people in Canada who advocate for a group like BLM in Canada need to give their head a shake. Trying to find a fucking excuse to be confrontational with police.. The treatment of blacks in US in contrast to Canada is apples and oranges. It's not even the same conversation.
I can't even think of any black people in Canada that died at the hands of police.
The U.S have a serious history of this that can't be denied. So now the problem has become, when a black person dies at the hands of a white cop like George Floyd, weather it was just bad policing or racially motivated we now what the aftermath is going to be.
It's not even close. Not even the same conversation. While I agree being black in Canada is not as hard as being black in the USA, it is still not easy and there is still a lot of racism.
I call bullshit on this. What I've learned from reading your posts over the years is that you are a race baiter who's not particularly fond of white people in general. That is human nature. I'm pretty sure you saw how Asians were on high alert when Covid19 started to take shape. They knew they were going to experience the 'looks' and probably be targets of violence. I remember sitting in an airport lounge a few months ago beside a White man who did look at me with disdain but he didn't say shit to me. He did have a lot to say when he saw an Asian couple with masks though. "Yeah, keep those masks on you nasty fucks" he said.
What the poster was talking about is a snapshot in time, but some groups experience this on a daily basis. Imagine if he had to live that and worse on a daily basis all his life.
The looks, the clutching of the purse, the walking through the door for a job interview and being met with the 'let me humour him, but he definitely won't be hired' look or the 'are you sure you're here for the accounting job and not the janitor one' talk? Or just the 'this neighbourhood is not for you'. The Don Cherry attitudes even!!
He's noticing just the black attitudes to his existence? He may want to pay attention to some of the others, unless it's just the 3 or 4 black one's he's studying at the moment. They may not even be cut eye-ing because he's white. I get it almost every time I step into Mr Jerk in Malton. I don't even live near there, but make the drive all the way there for a purpose. I just ignore their 'I hate my job' look, get my food and leave.
You'd be surprised there have been a few here over the years. For the vast majority of them they were justified. Just like the vast majority of them are justified in the US.Yes.
