Ford didn't fire anyone. He limited the number who could be elected. It was up to the voters to decide who to elect.

Neither the AG or IGs are separate branches of government from the Trump administration. The President decides who holds those roles (subject to confirmation of the AG by the Senate).

That's two gutterballs in a row.

Under Canadian law, the Little Potato was free to replace the AG. He just wasn't entitled to interfere in the prosecutorial decisions of whoever he appointed to the job.
