Masks Work: So STFU and Wear A Mask

This is what I noticed over the past 2 weeks or so. There are many, many more JACKASSES not wearing a mask nor taking covid safety protocols seriously. My blood boils whenever I encounter these Jackasses as they encroach on my space and others spaces.

If you want evidence that masks work, look no farther than a recent NY state study that shows front like workers be they NYPD, EMS, hospital and ER doctors, nurses and staff, Fire Dept, transit workers and others have an infection rate of less than 1/2 the general overall infection rate of the population of NYC.

How could this possibly be you may ask? These workers are constant contact with covid infected people and in many instances in extremely infectious environments. Their infection rates should be at least the same as the overall population and much greater given their exposure. So how could these seemingly irreconcilable facts be true?

The answer is MASKS!

All these front line workers wear MASKS! and follow safe covid protocols.

Are you THAT GUY, THAT GIRL, THAT effin JACKASS who has decided to take it upon him or herself to do whatever the eff you want to do and damn the consequences to the others who you come into contact with?

There is no governmental mandate, order, edict that you wear a mask nor follow safe covid practices, but there is a SOCIETAL imperative that you show respect, compassion and caring to others who do not share your selfishness.

Mask up, it saves lives and will contribute greatly to a better, safer and faster tomorrow.

The reason they try to keep regular folks away from medical masks is to save them for front line workers and not have people stocking up and leaving the supply low. The fact is masks do work. If they didn't, why do doctors dealing with COVID patients wear them, maybe a fashion statement? The virus enters through the mouth nose and if you rub your eyes. Obviously a properly fitted medical mask will stop the virus from getting in or out.

Humor me here, how many covid-dogs would need to be trained, where will they be deployed, how many people could they sniff up, down, inside, outside and all around in a dog's day to match the much more effective method of reducing the spread of covid infections by up to 75%, just by WEARING A FRICKIN MASK.

Listen up folks, Ontario's daily case counts are NOT going down, the 5 day moving average is going UP. This unfortunately coincides quite well with what I have noticed THAT PEOPLE ARE NOT WEARING MASKS and NOT TAKING THE SAME PRECAUTIONS AS THEY HAVE BEING TAKING BEFORE.

The restrictions in place will not ease, they will actually go back to square one, if WE DO NOT ALL use common sense.

This study you're referring to has clearly been based on a select group of healthcare personnel and not the average dude walking around living their life... Wearing masks may be statistically important for them and irrelevant for the rest of us... Our own Dr. Tam said as such when COVID was breaking out and into our country.

I don't typically have a mask on me as I don't want to risk touching my face. If I'm not allowed in a store, I'll understand. I also believe the old and vulnerable should have been isolated and protected.

I find it silly to depend on someone else's mask or hygiene skills... You pack your own parachute.

How can that possibly be, except for the fact that these first responders and front line workers wear PPE, masks being a primary PPE? It is not only studied FACT, but also just good ole' COMMON SENSE. Wearing seat belts saves lives, not drinking and driving saves lives, not blowing through red lights save lives and wearing frickin masks dramatically reduces the spread of covid and saves lives.

Hell, you even brought up Dr. Tam to buttress your untenable argument against wearing masks. Well hell, Dr. Tam has now also recommended that masks be worn to mitigate the spread of covid when social distancing is not possible. What possible excuses can u have left in your "masks are pointless" arsenal of excuses.

Agreed. I'm sick and tired of hearing imbeciles complain about the 'inconvenience' of having to wear a mask when out in public. Most of these idiots just don't like being told what to do.
