This line from your article is pure garbage.
(actually the entire article is, its based on the claiming that renewables have ecological costs, which the do, but the point is that they are way less than fossil fuels)

In truth, humankind has never been at risk of running out of energy. There has always been enough fossil fuels to power human civilization for hundreds and perhaps thousands of years

Yeah sure...I'm sure all the experts and scientists interviewed in the documentary are not as smart as you.

He should watch the movie but Frank doesn't like to learn. Frank if you actually watch the movie it shows how reliant green energy is on fossil fuel. The movie makes Bloomberg and Gore look really bad. LOL. The lemmings on the left fell for all this garbage. If you watch the movie all the scientists say is the only way to stop climate change is population control and consumption control.

You really think there are enough fossil fuels for thousands of years?
Or that there were scientists making that claim in the video?

You guys all of a sudden love Michael Moore?

I haven't seen the video, but I expect that it has some errors.
So first, before I waste a couple of hours watching it, in the interest of establishing credibility, do you trust everything Michael Moore has said and put in movies?
Do you think his movies, like Farenheit 11/9, are totally accurate and on the money?

'Cuz if you don't think he's trustworthy, its not worthy debating.

If we have a problem with fossil fuels, why are they over producing crude?

Nobody knows how much fossil fuel is left in the world. They keep finding new reserves.
There hasn't been a large discovery of oil in decades.
What they have been doing is getting better at getting the stuff thats deep in oceans, stuck in rocks or in the tar sands.

Who were making the claim? People disguised as scientists?
Their point is that this "green" energy is doing more harm than good and many aspects of it are a lie...and the apparent "champions" are the biggest hypocrits.

First, do you believe every Michael Moore and think he's a totally trustworthy source?

You are asking the wrong questions.
Your question should be, why would Michael Moore be exposing the misconceptions of green energy?

It's interesting that Michael Moore would make a documentary that would not fit nicely with his political leanings. It's probably more thoughtful than a documentary from someone with a demonstrated agenda. I've heard some of this all before. I'm still going to give it a look when I have time.

The argument that we are running out of fossil fuels is really a fallacious one. First, if we start seeing the real end of the fossil fuel supply, prices will start creeping up. It won't be like a switch one day low prices, next day high prices. The creeping upward prices will drive research and production for alternatives. That's basic economics.

Second is the old commodity market adage, the cure for higher oil prices is higher oil prices. High oil prices drive conservation, alternative energy and most importantly exploration and development of fossil fuel resources. This is what has happened in the 80s and it also started the downward oil price cycle in 2015. The exploration and development of fossil fuels around the world has helped to create the glut we had pre-COVID that is now an all-out crash in prices.

No, my first question is whether you trust the source you're quoting or if you're just trolling again.

So tell me, is Michael Moore an expert whose opinion you respect?
Are all his films great examples of legitimate research and views?

You miss the point that renewables are now competitive with fossil fuels.
And if it costs the same to do solar/wind as coal/natural gas for generation, would you pick the one who's raw materials are likely to go up in price?

Franky does not remember the Green Energy Act in Ontario that Kathleen and her buddies implemented which cause hydro rates to rise. one month i had to spend $400 in Hydro bills. today after the green energy act was repealed hydro bills are on average $50 a month. in Germany similar green energy programs make Germany have the highest electricity rates in Europe.

Considering your leftist tendencies, any opinion which isn't the same as your's demands that you attack? No surprise there.

Why don't you tell us why his opinions and research don't matter seeing as you are the one who is skeptical and have vast experience dealing with experts when putting together documentaries?

You are the one saying his work is trustworthy, not me.
You make the case and tell me why I should listen to this film or not.

You should listen to the film because if you don't you don't have the right to comment on its veracity.

So come back when you have done your homework. Oh and stop trying to ad hominin Michael Moore.

I enjoy his films, for the most part he is right, sometimes, especially in earlier films he engaged in a but of Hyperbole but with a core of truth.

What has been happening lately however is his constant exposure to various champions of the both sides in politics has made him realize an extremist is an extremist. And both sides have profit mongers willing to lie to Bank cash.

I'm betting this exposes some of that. You are far better to weed out a few than to defend them from an ideological standpoint.
