Already discussed.
See post # 134
Bottomline paper is flaw don't include Zinc combo treatment .
You need HCQ & Zinc & Azithromycin [ VA study don't include Zinc combo) as pointed on video in post#134. Therefore it a flaw studies.
Video in CNN also point out it a small study and not peer review!
Again South Korea is using HCQ & Zinc & Azithromycin go to post # 158.

Sorry I fail to see how the opinion of one family physician practicing in Northern Virginia on his you tube channel with links to his IG, Twitter and website evidence for the efficacy and safety of a medication. Lets get information from the proper channels. Go to https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/
and search for studies there. TO be honest I did not even look at the video as I have better avenues for my information.

That video at best is "expert opinion" although he really isnt an expert at this as he is a community GP with no academic appointments.

If you look at the evidence tree expert opinion is at the very bottom. I will emphasize again, I am NOT against HQ I hope it works all I am saying is lets wait for the results to be completed.

Just follow the data! Paper need to be peer reviewed. South Korea doctors are using it as main treatment in South Korea.
Protocol must be established the dosage, etc...
Remember those expert opinions from Heath Canada and United Stated CDC about not wearing mask then they changed the narrative that
this month that now we should be wearing mask in public! I am pretty sure they are at the top of the pyramid in the picture. Meanwhile I was wearing my mask since end of February.

If I had listen to the so called expert from Health Canada or United States CDC , I could had caught covid-19.
Here an example wearing a mask reduced spread virus!
Published on Mar 31, 2020
Wearing face masks decreases the spread of the virus by 80 %

During the coronavirus outbreak, the most stupid thing I have ever seen is not that people are not wearing masks, but those who are not wearing masks are asking others to take their masks off. This happens every day, government and health officials are still promoting this in the media.

Shoppers have been kicked out of supermarket for wearing masks. People walk into a hospital and been told to take off their masks by nurses, healthcare workers are told to remove their masks by their managers. As they all believe, healthy people do not need to wear a mask.

But many people with the coronavirus do not show any symptom, so there is a high risk that people can be exposed to the virus without knowing. After the pandemic is over, the number of cases among cashiers, sales people and healthcare workers, will unveil the truth.

There are a few places in the world that flatten the curve in a short time during the coronavirus outbreak, Czechs republic, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. 14 days after they make mask-wearing in public mandatory, the spread of the virus decreased by 80%. And Taiwan is the only place in the entire world flattened the curve without shutting down business and schools.

The Czech Republic is one of the few in Europe that has significantly slowed down the spread of the virus, better than Germany and France. The main difference is that everyone who has to leave their house has to wear a mask. There is a video on YouTube called mask4all that shows clearly, even a home made masks works to decrease the spreading the virus.

Our health officials told us wear a mask may increase the chance to get the virus, this is wrong. My experience told me, there is much less chance that I touch my face with a mask on. And this is also a warning to other people to keep distance from me, and it really helps.
Whereas health Canada told us not wear mask in public.

There are many ways to slow down the virus spread, wash your hands, keep social distance, adding a face mask has significant improvement on fighting the virus. So, please stop asking people to take off their masks. We can do a better job to flatten the curve with much fewer cases in a short period.

Wear masks if you have spare ones, if you do not have it, make one, using masks helps control the virus spread. The less people get the virus, the less medical resources needed, a big help to healthcare workers.

By the way I will be posting video from here showing Czech Republic video they had been way ahead of Canada and USA
And their rrnaught from covid is below 1. They did hell lot better then Cananda & USA & rest of Europe on fight covid-19.

Video below:

PS Sorry I failed to see how you called so called expert on the top of the pyramid get so wrong!

Yes I fully understand what a peer review is. Link me the South Korean study that says HCQ is the main treatment for covid. News articles or YouTube videos don’t count. Peer reviewed articles are on PubMed which I linked you. South Korea’s success was related to their early testing and isolation.

Also I am saying expert opinion is at the bottom of the evidence tree. For a drug to be effective you need more than that so even if someone in health Canada which you claim has no idea what is going on says something it’s still expert opinion and still below what is required for a drug to be implemented safety.

Again I’m not trying to attack you. You clearly care a lot about this and I get a sense your actually trying to get evidence. I just encourage you to find the evidence from the source and reference primary medical articles.

So taking those points and applying it to your question of why zinc was not included:

A) Synergistic drug effects are VERY rare in medicine. One of the few examples is levo dopa for parkinsons and that has a clear relationship. For one drug to make another drug better it has to alter its mechanism of action; otherwise that drug is just a cofounder and including it in the study is just adding noise to the impact of the drug of interest. Azithro is included in the HCQ regimen because it is an antibiotic and its sole purpose is to try to prevent opportunistic infections from a diseased COVID lung, it does nothing against COVID and it does nothing with HCQ. Zinc it self has immune properties. HCQ has a very complex multi progned mechanism that people dont really understand thats why it is tried literally in all diseases.

B) It is VERY hard to show that a drug has an impact unless it is very clear like vaccines are and even that is debated... lol. To show in a study that a specific drug is the REASON why someone got better and it was not just chance alone, the natural history of the disease or any other supportive intervention or patient protective factor is a BIG task. The only way is a randomized double blinded, placebo control trial with BIG numbers to make inferences from a sample to a population. Having more drugs only makes things harder for the investigators at some point if the claim is HCQ works people have to isolate it and do combination studies

C) This is perhaps the most important. People that study mediicne know how these trials go and know about HCQ. There is always chaos at the begining of every drug. If you take a sugar pill and claim its a cure to cancer I am sure you will get mixed results from actual researchers, just due to chance alone 5% of studies will be positive no matter what given the significance value of 95% used in medicine. The other important factor is experts KNOW what is relevant when treating a patient. A drug may have a clear established effect but whats the point if it has no clinical impact? You need experience to know these things.

>> Zinc Emerging as a Key in Hydroxychloroquine-Based Treatments

Also post#100 have Zinc combo treatment in research paper! This have a research paper with 1061 patients large sample size but not peer reviewed!
https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?709548-Getting-hydroxychloroquine/page5

Video noted drug treatment is promising but need a double blinded random controlled studies and need to be peer reviewed!
I am pretty sure when those paper come out in will be posted from South Korea and when I find it I will posted for you!

FYI : South Korea success involves early testing from hot zone ( China) and then later stopping all inbound flight from hot zone ( like China) , early testing , isolation[, testing are free for everyone and finally everyone who go out public must wear a mask! Look at How Czech Republic did as compare to whole Europe and USA and China that alone put everyone to shame!
When I find the Korea studies will post for you... I am pretty sure when those paper will come out I will be posted from South Korea and when I find it I will posted for you! For now I have to take the word of a GP in the YouTube video post # 161 from South Korea that HCQ & Zinc & Azithromycin is main treatment. There no reason for the South Korean Doctor to lie! For now I rather trust South Korea then Canada sole reason they are doing way better then Canada in the pandemic they didn't closes their cities !
Trust have to be earn and South Korea have earn my trust!

PS. Explain why doctor are writing their own prescription ? for HCQ see link here:
https://www.propublica.org/article/...escriptions-for-themselves-and-their-families
PPS. Like I said all med paper( research paper ) need to be peer reviewed double blinded large random sample needed! That the Gold standards! Follow the data regardless of the politics!

Youtube videos, blog posts, facebook posts, politician statements on both sides of the aisle, news articles are NOT scientific evidence and I will not even address these to be honest. The danger with these things is that there is a confirmation bias. You can find a video or a post that supports your view because everything is out there. Essentially your opinion dictates the evidence because you go find it. That is a problem which I REALLY hope you understand. The way things should work is the other way, you let the evidence form your opinion. Now link me the evidence if you can find them from primary medical literature and we can discuss it. There are journal clubs open to the public throughout the city and its funny because no one shows up to those to discuss these things.

If I was you I would use the youtube videos to understand more about the fundementals and basics. Maybe study drug design phase 1 2 3 4. Study what is a randomized control trial. You can study virology basics. Then maybe you can have enough knowledge to go navigate through the primary literature that is out there.

Did you look at this studies ? Posted earlier!

The study was performed at IHU Méditerranée Infection, Marseille, France. A cohort of 1061 COVID-19 patients, treated for at least 3 days with the HCQ-AZ combination and a follow-up of at least 9 days was investigated. Endpoints were death, worsening and viral shedding persistence.

Findings

From March 3rd to April 9th, 2020, 59,655 specimens from 38,617 patients were tested for COVID-19 by PCR. Of the 3,165 positive patients placed in the care of our institute, 1061 previously unpublished patients met our inclusion criteria. Their mean age was 43.6 years old and 492 were male (46.4%). No cardiac toxicity was observed. A good clinical outcome and virological cure was obtained in 973 patients within 10 days (91.7%). Prolonged viral carriage at completion of treatment was observed in 47 patients (4.4%) and was associated to a higher viral load at diagnosis (p < 10-2) but viral culture was negative at day 10 and all but one were PCR-cleared at day 15. A poor outcome was observed for 46 patients (4.3%); 10 were transferred to intensive care units, 5 patients died (0.47%) (74-95 years old) and 31 required 10 days of hospitalization or more. Among this group, 25 patients are now cured and 16 are still hospitalized (98% of patients cured so far). Poor clinical outcome was significantly associated to older age (OR 1.11), initial higher severity (OR 10.05) and low hydroxychloroquine serum concentration. In addition, both poor clinical and virological outcomes were associated to the use of selective beta-blocking agents and angiotensin II receptor blockers (P<0.05). Mortality was significantly lower in patients who had received > 3 days of HCQ-AZ than in patients treated with other regimens both at IHU and in all Marseille public hospitals (p< 10-2).

>> Zinc Emerging as a Key in Hydroxychloroquine-Based Treatments
Interpretation

The HCQ-AZ combination, when started immediately after diagnosis, is a safe and efficient treatment for COVID-19, with a mortality rate of 0.5%, in elderly patients. It avoids worsening and clears virus persistence and contagiosity in most cases.

I do understand confirmation biased. All I am pointing out that follow the data regardless of the politics!
Studies need to be peer reviewed on both sides of the asides!! Remember those so called expert from Health Canada & WHO & CDC got so wrong in facemask ( especially Health Canada) I lost my trust in them. I put more faith in South Korea base on their records! Still it don't explain why doctor writing their own prescription for themselves & family for HCQ as mentioned on previous post!

I go by logic just like N95 mask fiasco! Always prepared ahead of time. That why I was so prepared with N95 mask & disinfectant & eye goggles & food storage & stock portfolio ( converted all cash just before the crash) for this pandemic!
Doctor are writing prescription for themselves and families member for HCQ reason ( supply & demand ) just like N95 mask ( none N95 mask for the public when you need it) . When everyone get sick at same time will result a not enough supply you basically fucked! That why they are writing themselves their own prescription for HCQ!
I looked at other countries like Singapore, South Korea, Czech Republic, Taiwan , Japan , and see what they do differently and why we not follow them and they are way ahead of everyone on handling the pandemic!

PS. When I find you research paper from South Korea will posted for you! I know what randomized control studies. I took biostatistics course long time ago! Bottomline knowledge is allowing you to be prepared for this pandemic as opposed on counting on the governments because they failed miserably on this pandemic !

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I keep hearing that Hollywood types use Hydroxychloroquine to bleach their assholes. That explains why Sean Hannity is all in. Zinc is good for us ageing men, it helps in the production of semen. Lentils and chick peas are high in zinc... possibly why I've been lathering up so quickly lately.

It's a compound made from quinine, used to treat malaria. It allowed Europeans to plunder Sub-Saharan Africa and South East Asia.

Link me the study, that site you linked to is not a peer review journal. Also that study again is showing reduction in viral loads which may not correlate with clinical. Also it doesent sound like they had proper randomization. This is a bias of mine without having read the actual paper, but I can already tell that this is a shit study since they are also finding that Beta Blockers and AT II blockers are associated with poor outcomes.... That just tells me this study lacks causality. If we went on the results of this study alone we should also stop beta blockers and ART II .... Anyone who has spend more than 10 min in an actual ICU would tell you the consequences of that would be MASSIVE.

Here is a post I made with one article in favour and another not in favour of the drug. Also linked 3-4 articles about its side effects

I did acknowledge the study is not peer reviewed ! All studies need to be peer reviewed !

Both the article you link didn’t include zinc the hydroxychlooquine & Azithromycin with Zinc combo treatment! That the whole argument about the studies don’t include The zinc combo treatment which is the key for Hydroxychloroquine treatment to work properly to stop virus from replicating !

Right top my head this what come into my mind.
Convalescent plasma promising but not feasible! Old treatment! Not enough plasma for everyone( general public) !

People who recover from an infection develop antibodies that circulate in the blood and can neutralize the pathogen. Researchers hope to use the technique to treat critically ill COVID-19 patients and boost the immune systems of health care providers and first responders.

Approved by the Food Drug Administration (FDA)
Treatment cost: Probably very expensive! Insurance of OHIP maynot be covered in Ontario or USA

Remdesvir ( antivirals Ebola drug) extremely promising
Treatment cost unknown new drug definitely not cover by OHIP; New Drug very expensive!

The University of Chicago Medicine recruited 125 people with Covid-19 into Gilead’s two Phase 3 clinical trials. Of those people, 113 had severe disease. All the patients have been treated with daily infusions of remdesivir.
“The best news is that most of our patients have already been discharged, which is great. We’ve only had two patients perish,” said Kathleen Mullane, the University of Chicago infectious disease specialist overseeing the remdesivir studies for the hospital.

Granted, the sample size is small and two people did die — but it’s something.

Latest update on Remdesvir stock dump is Remdesvir utterly a failure ! See latest post#189

( Their stock sky rocketed last week Friday then drop following this week Monday morning) that enough proof for me . It just hope but there are postive benefits!
It not a magic bullet for covid-19. If remdesvir is the cure and that not the magic bullet then the stock would had not drop Monday !

Don’t know anything about the other drug new hrsACE2 drug you mentioned! Probably in phase I trial and cell cultures most likely! This requires lot of research time to study this !!

From what I gather your knowledge of medicine are extremely knowledgeable( maybe you are a GP or a Medical student or resident or a specialists ) but you only one opinion. I tend to favour the South Korea doctors approach since they mentioned in the above video that their main treatment! Like you said you didn’t read the above paper too & criticized it , and I will take you word it maybe flaw but will have to wait until all the other papers that are being reviewed using HCQ & Zinc & Azithromycin treatment!
Have to wait until those peer reviewed papers Zinc & hydroxychlooquine & Azithromycin come out from South Korea!

It’s still funny that the cheap drug with a ton of positive outcomes is “bad” and the drug being developed and with a patent pending is “good.”

The TDS is too strong in this thread.

Neither are the opinions of an internet forum poster on an escort site acting like an expert in everything medical related to this drug, i.e. you. Why should anyone believe - anything - you opine on this topic. You could simply be a medical student who doesn't really know much of anything related to this. You could also have political or other biases, such as to certain medical opinions.

Without getting into high school chemistry, hydroxychloroquine is a derivative of quinine. The latter was used not as a vaccine (hasn't been developed yet) but is an effective treatment against malaria.

Let's test it for ourselves. Maybe Porn Addict should TOFTT, take the drug and work for a week in a nursing home - then we'll have our answer.

Speculation now that the hydroxychloroquine hype was a deliberate part of a "pump and dump" stock fraud scheme that Trump, Tucker Carlson and other Fox News personalities were set to make $ from.

Fox and Trump are suddenly no longer talking up hydroxy. Presumably, they've made enough and have cashed out their stock holdings and banked their money while idiots like Porn continue to believe.
