Alcohol sales is actually an essential service. Same in Quebec, Ontario and New York. If alcoholics quit cold turkey they can end up in the hospital or worse. That's what I read anyway.

I wonder if the bath houses are still open. I remember during the beginning of the AIDS crisis many cities wanted to shut them down and it was a big deal

100% accurate. The last thing the health care system needs is alcoholics going through serious withdrawals or drinking after shave, lysol etc.

To those keeping lists:

I think it's only right to be sure to note when the SW stopped working/advertising. How long they continued to work as evidence mounted regarding severity is kinda important.

I bet many of you had doubts initially, too, and then came around. I did. Don't be a hypocrite about the shaming self-righteousness (and is that effective?)

We can't read the minds of SWs so we don't know if they're "just being selfish".

I'm not excusing ignorance; I'm allowing for "on second thought" regret to be a thing they come to acknowledge. I'd want that consideration and I bet you would, too.

How you/I/we react is also a thing right now to be aware of. Pitchforks and torches is not a good look.

{also, my mother's 74 (moved in with her about 6 months ago) so careful about the "White Knight" label BS}

Sorry, we're not going to excuse you, or Shitler, for not taking this seriously. Did you fall under the Faux News, fake/hoax/overblown mantra? Most intelligent people reading about this through multiple sources figured this out pretty early.

I think you may be missing the OP's point. I think that having the last advertised date would be helpful. Early on in this situation the messaging was not really clear and some people may have been slow to act. However, anyone still advertising is pretty much just showing a blatant disregard for their and their clients' health.

People's memories tend to be short and it would be good to be able to map behaviors against a timeline.

Bizz, some local SPs have already mentioned on their Twitter timelines about finding regular jobs e.g. retail, customer service etc or going back to school to upgrade their skills.

There will always be new waves of SPs replacing the ones who retire, it is the oldest profession in the world after all, but I hope good practices will come out of this e.g. hand sanitizers will be readily available at incalls/personal residences/AirBnBs etc

I took it seriously early on but still had doubts. Don't be a jackass (did you just unwittingly violate Godwin's Law?)

From an indie perspective, the number of ads on Kijiji under Health and Beauty section and Locanto/ListCrawler have pretty much come to a halt in the past few days, except for some who seems to be more on the desperate side.

Good to see the ladies heeding the advice of the public health care professionals.
