Thank you for the last twenty years, Fred Zed. I recall the initial days of this site circa the turn of the century. I was "thebrus" back then. This used to be a great site for reviews and Sp-related info. It has degenerated to include the Political bullshit section and the Lounge has become a listing of nonsensical trivial inanity other than the Homer's "Legs" section. We should revert to the time when this site was just escort reviews and ads. There would be less waste of broadband and the site would be more relevant to the average Terbite.
Well done TERB, may it continue indefinitely.

bluecolt what you are suggesting would render TERB as just another rowboat on the ocean. I haven't written a review in years, not comfortable with it. However I've gotten valuable information in other forums that make this site essential reading, particularly in the business and tech forms. There are some very intelligent posters here and I value their ops. Taking that way would slowly erode the membership to irrelevance, a Legs thread just doesn't cut it. There used to be more ladies posting, we have to do more to welcome them back, cutting down on the vitriol and hatred helps.

Thank you for the heads up, couldn't understand why the "decay" thread was deleted. Then I went to social that had American citizens there living in Toronto, it was a moment of clarity.

Well done Terb. I joined in 2009 and have enjoyed it. It does not feel like 10 years. I have met some wonderful women because of Terb and I plan to meet more. Keep up the good work.

Wow nearly 20 years, and to think I’ve been here since the beginning, and even before this incarnation of TERB.

Agree with the comments about conduct on the forum. A little history lesson. Before TERB there were a series of other similar forums that self destructed due to constant bickering, insults, flame wars etc. The culture of (at least some) respect between members and also between members and providers have allowed this board to thrive. I’m fully supportive of efforts to weed out troublemakers, to preserve a mutually respectful discussion forum.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: people vastly underestimate a few dickheads with too much time on their hands’ ability to completely destroy an otherwise healthy forum. The good posters get sick of their shit and leave, the weak sheep start shitposting along with them, the newbies think “oh, I guess this is what people do here” so they post like absolute douchenozzles as well, and soon enough, the entire forum is just shitposting and dickwaving contests. A few troublemakers may not seem like a big problem at first, but they’re a cancer that will grow until it’s too late. I don’t think we’ve hit the tipping point here yet, but I’ve certainly seen signs of the sort of toxicity that’s destroyed many other sites I used to use.

We need to respect each other even if we don’t necessarily agree with each other. I know the world as a whole has become much more divided and much less civil, but we still get to decide if we’re going to let that shit take hold here or not.

Well said. It's particularly troublesome with the imbeciles who have no intention of even seeing escorts, but somehow manage to find 'refuge' here.

I mean, honestly, I don’t even care if you’re not seeing escorts. Kind of strange to come here if you’re not a hobbyist or at least curious about the hobby/lifestyle, but sure, if you just want to chill and socialize, why not? Just don’t be an asshole, though. Someone like Crimson Mire, who had no interest in any of this stuff and just came here to preach, insult people, and cause drama is a problem. Someone who just stumbled across TERB somehow, thought the conversation here was interesting, and wanted to join in probably isn’t. The real problems come when we let a few assholes dictate the tone of the entire forum.

The problem, as I see it, is that those who have no interest in sex work period, inevitably cannot help but begin to flood the forum with other nonsense/spam, etc. that again, has absolutely nothing to do with escorts or sex work and whose purpose is only to troll.

I understand that membership is open, but again, I can only ask: if you are not interested in sex work, what are you doing here??

Well again, I think it depends. If they’re just spamming or blatantly trolling, sure, get rid of them. There are lots of topics here in the lounge that aren’t escort-related and are perfectly cromulent, however. Like, if someone’s stopping in to give restaurant recommendations in one of the various food threads, I don’t see the harm in that. I don’t think the lounge needs to be entirely hobby-related, personally. Others may disagree there, but I think just having a general social forum is fine and actually helps community cohesion.

I've noticed the number of these posters who are troublemakers that are buffoons, shitpost, SHILLS, have an agenda, or know it alls about the industry has increased quite a bit in the last year or so. Their posts usually contain little to no facts.
It's linked directly to the use of Twitter by SP's not only to advertise but also as a format by some to express their displeasure of hobbyists, review boards, the industry, and having a corus repeating and re affirming the same song and that has spread onto here, as well as that it also has to do with a change in our societies behaviour in the last few years of being so polarized in opinions on all subjects and the very high majority of people not wanting to give up an inch or try to understand others point of view.

These types of behaviours breeds more of the same and before you know it all the posts are contaminated with useless information. Hence why it's very important to welcome all reviews good or bad, and that is the main purpose of TERB. That purpose has served hobbyists on choosing correctly which SP to see and who to avoid, and hope that doesn't change, it definitely has helped me.
I hope those bad apples don't ruin it for others and turn this board into the shitshow, like some of the other boards.
Unfortunately some members have admitted to not wanting anything posted about SP's that doesn't paint them in a good light even when members are being civilized and truthful in their posts.

It amazes me how many times I see members posting that they can not understand why giving detailed information is useful to others just because it isn't to them. And that's the main issue on how a lot of the arguments on the board starts. Once the board clears up the members who continuously question others detailed reviews or label them as disrespectful individuals then things will return to normal.

I been on terb for the past 10 years and found it useful when I need MPA intel through the PM.

I have since retired from the hobby and just read the lounge and and non review sections to stay current and because I like reading posts from other like minds who enjoy this hobby and believe in the persons fundamental right to choose what to do with your body such as participating in the adult sex world.

I think it’s nice to have a forum to exchange ideas like that. I also remember I would come on here when I needed to wait for sessions, in between sessions and just to come down from a mind blowing session. Having said all that I would like to see the lounge and sub lounge sections left open for discussion based on free respectful speech. Right now it helps stay retired especially when I get the urge to come back.

I tried the “other” board however I soon realize how toxic it was and that terb was a great place to chill when I needed time to kill and connect with the community. I like how merb did it where they would post reasons why someone got a temporary ban or permanent ban so we know what’s allowed and not with example however it appeared they were too extreme where they would give temp bans just for swearing. However that openness helped maintain integrity. Sometimes it feels like band of circle tuggers gang up on a certain poster and start trolling, trapping and then complaining about someone because they said something that got triggered or crossed their ego like how posters used to go after CM in the past and he sounds like a really cool guy with unique perspective from the rest of us on here. Maybe some old white dudes with cheating SOs got triggered by his sig pic and decided to band against him. Having said this it would be nice to also ban members who abuse the complaint function and use it to bully other posters.

I love coming on here and hope that it keeps fair regardless or political beliefs or race and religion and especially if someone says something positive about Trump everyone deserves the same respect. We can disagree on everything provided it is done in a respectful manner.

And please, let's finally have an Asian Escort Review section.

All I do is Asian these days, Asians are consistent with quality service and you get good value on the dollar.

I have been on Terb since the beginning, there were times when I tried to stay off this board but I could not, I would be successful for a week or so then I would always come back, I once stayed off TERB for over a year. TERB fuels the addiction, TERB will survive another 20 years due to all the sex addicts on the board.

The problem there is mental health issues. There is a difference between shithead posters and those who truly suffer mental illness and are having an a cute episode or those who choose not to address their mental health and choose to remain suffering. As is the case with CM. I know because I dealt with him on another board.

I think both types need to be removed from TERB because one is unhealthy to the board, the other is unhealthy to themselves and once a board admin, and I have said this on other boards but once an Admin knows or it is reported that a poster suffers from some serious mental illness, it is duty-bound to remove that poster for their own good.

I will say, which is unrelated to your post, but the idea that TERB has become a place of problem posters because of Twitter is a bit ridiculous. Part of the problem as I see it in that regard is some posters here don't take it there.

There has been rules of no cross border board BS. This was important a few times over the years when certain people decided TERB was no good and tried starting boards of their own. The attempts to drag TERB down the rabbit hole was rampant. Now with Twitter it is starting again. I think TERB needs to reinstate the rules to include cross platform drama. Guys are suppose to be reviewing ladies they have actually seen, not carrying about twitter posts of ladies they have never seen. This will be an unpopular opinion but you want TERB to have less drama, make these posters take the drama to Twitter where their issue lies.

I have to disagree with you on both counts. First, unless you are a trained professional to claim someone has a mental illness is unfair and to place that responsibility on an Admins lap is also wrong. As for what ladies say on Twitter, I believe it is part of the reviewing process and can change a clients perception on either to book or not to book. I find it very helpful as part of my screening process. This is just my opinion which hopefully we all have the right to still have.

There are some, like in the case of CM where it is apparent they are going through an episode. Admins and mods have been dealing with it for years. They can see the signs. Instead of being PC, in my opinion, they should be pro-active.

Although I will say part of the problem is people not reporting the posts to mods and instead lapping up the drama themselves because they think it is funny. It is for these reasons admins need to be pro-active. But more people need to report things. Another unpopular opinion to some who feel a poster using the report button is also causing drama.

As for Twitter, use it for screening all the time but you just came up with a cross platform shit disturbing post that was closed. That is what I am talking about. If you want to support or denounce people on Twitter, do it on Twitter. Bringing twitter posts over here to laugh at them like you do Stephina or to big them up like you did with Minx, has no place here on TERB and is nothing to do with "screening". You know it and I know it.

The war between indies only supporters and agency only supporters between SPs and hobbyists, needs to be squashed and instead we need to turn this board into being an overall industry supportive systems. There is enough room for everyone to find what they want and this board needs to allow for that instead of trying to tell others who to book, how to book, what to pay, etc. There is a difference between giving opinions on the options and just blatantly trying to limit the options because they don't appeal to you personally.

And of course you have the right to your opinion still. Why would you think otherwise?
