Based af tbh. One has to admire the dedication it takes to own a sex doll. Personally, if I had one I would lose all motivation to clean it after cumming once.

It's more like 90% of the population has it.

Here is a good link to it and about it.

Here is another link to help you, will help put some peace into your life.

Don't know what the percentage is. You hear different numbers. Sorry OP for the news. Must feel like the ground just dropped out from under you. Not so. You will find a way to figure it out. There is support out there. Online support groups.Just to get to hear how other people handle it. I know a couple of people who have come to terms with it. It isn't the end of the world for them, or their sex lives.

No I haven’t. I inquired about testing for herpes when I was at the hassle free clinic getting tested I didn’t see it on the list of things they were testing for. They told me there’s no point to test unless you’ve had symptoms and even if you do get the blood test they can only tell you the strain your carrying not the location unless you show symptoms. Hassle free or any sexual health clinic won’t test but you can ask your doctor to if you want to get the blood test.
This whole thing about no point in testing because you won’t be able to know the location is just plain stupidity at this point in my opinion. Get the test done so you know what it is you have in your body before you continue to unknowingly pass it around and take precautions from there. It’s that simple.

Yeah these places like HFC tell you it's not a big deal because their priority is preventing the spread of diseases like HIV amd syphillis. If you get herpes or genital warts and spread it around to 50 people they don't care because it is not important in the grand scheme of things. Doesn't mean it isn't important to you or your loved ones though.

Oblivion
so someone had a cold sore (hsv1) while they gave you a bbbj and now you have hsv1 on your dick? is it possible to have hsv1 on your mouth but not have any symptoms/cold sores? based on the info posted in this thread, it's rare to get hsv1 on your genitals, so you lucked out.

you should probably tell all the women you slept with about this, but if it's hsv1, wouldn't the worst thing they have be cold sores?
Maybe she had hsv2 in her mouth, since she is a sex provider she would be at greater risk to have hsv2 in her mouth than the general population based on the risk associated with her livelyhood ? In any case the op got shafted, literally on his shaft, his wife knows of the infection and is probably doing the math so that he may need a good divorce lawyer soon.

PSA:

Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis meds for HIV also provides some protection against acquiring HSV-2.

https://www.mdedge.com/obgyn/article/113815/hiv/oral-hiv-prep-also-protects-against-herpes

The Ontario government has also recently made the medication Truvada a benefit under the drug formulary for PrEP coverage. I would highly recommend any SPs under 25 to take advantage of the coverage and get the medication covered for free. Of course, anybody can get a prescription for it, but those under 25 at high risk will get it covered under the OHIP+ program for PrEP

HIV and HSV-2 protection for free is something SPs under 25 should seriously consider

Regret, thanks for sharing your story. Herpes is actually my greatest fear in the hobby, given the stigma and the risk of contracting it despite taking all precautions. I've done a bunch of reading over the years, here are some of the things I understand about the risks based on what I've read as well as my studies in the medical sciences (not a doctor though). Everybody should educate themselves though.

There are two types of herpes viruses, HSV1 which mostly infects the mouth area and HSV2 which typically infects the genital area. However, it is certainly possible to contract HSV1 in the genital area and HSV2 around the mouth.

HSV1 may confer very limited resistance against infection with HSV2, probably due to some cross-reactivity in the antibodies. In one large study, it was found that people infected with HSV1 had a slightly lower incidence of being infected with HSV2 than people that were not infected with HSV1. Being positive with HSV1 certainly does not mean you will be immune to infection with HSV2!

The risk of contracting HSV2/genital herpes from a BBBJ is supposed to be very low, but not impossible. Unfortunately, this appears to be the situation in the OP's case. An initial herpes infection in the majority of cases will manifest itself within 1-3 days of exposure, and in rarer cases up to a few weeks.

Condoms provide some limited protection against infection. However, it is passed through skin contact, so even with condom use you can get it from CFS. I believe it's highly unlikely to get herpes from a CBJ, but I wouldn't absolutely rule it out, depending on how much skin contact there is. A person who has herpes can pass it on while they have an active outbreak, or even when they are not having an outbreak, but still shedding the virus. A person who has herpes is not necessarily infectious at all times.

Herpes is usually diagnosed when there's a visible outbreak. There are blood tests for HSV1 and HSV2, they test for antibodies against the virus. These tests do not tell you where the infection is. Despite what some medical professionals say, they are now fairly accurate sensitivity and specificity-wise (not a lot of false positives or false negatives).

People have different physical reactions to being infected with HSV2. Some people have recurring outbreaks that go down with time, and can be minimized with treatment. Some people just get one outbreak and never get another one. The following point is based on my general understanding of immunology and infection, but some other people may be infected and never get an outbreak. Incidentally, all these people will test positive for HSV2 antibodies, since this is indicative of any immune response upon exposure to the virus.

All this to say that herpes is a very real risk in the hobby, both in seeing MAs and SPs, though of course the risk is higher with sex. I would say that it's possible to get herpes from a body slide massage without a BJ or sex, which is one of my fears.

HPV is Human Papillomavirus Virus, which is different from HSV which is Herpes SImplex Virus. HPV is indeed very widespread, and there are over 100 strains of HPV. There is a vaccine that protects against most of the cancer-causing strains of HPV, but there is no vaccine against herpes.

GTA & Thereabouts...
We haven't spoken much about it at this point and I think, for now, she is still processing the information and wants to believe that I could have unknowingly had oral herpes from before we were married and then transmitted it to her through kissing etc. and then it got transferred to my penis through oral sex with her. I mean it is possible, but not sure how plausible that is and suspect she will start asking more direct questions as she educates herself on the topic. Part of me obviously wants to tell her the truth, but I worry that the truth may hurt her even more and maybe it's better to stay quiet if she wants to believe it happened this way. We honestly have a great marriage and I started hobbying before we were married, then gave it up for a while and went back to supplement my sex life at home since she was not able to keep up with my libido. I often only got BJ's because I really preferred having sex with my wife and she never liked giving BJ's anyway. My job allowed me the time and resources to easily hobby without being detected and there was kind of a perfect balance (at least in my mind). Hard to believe that it all got messed up so quickly.
Your wife may be going: "Fuck! I gave Herpes to my husband!"

I think you meant to say HSV (herpes). But yes HPV is another virus that pretty much everyone has unless you’ve stuck with porn and masturbation your whole life. Point is if you truly feared the herpes virus you would plan on only having 2-3 sexual partners in life (and even then you better hope they’re faithful, now good luck) and not just quitting this “hobby”. I don’t know which one people are more ignorant of... the fact that herpes is a more wide spread virus then you think therefore you certainly have and will comes across it at some point in your life or the fact that you could of contracted the virus back in your early days and you’ve been living with it your whole life without the slightest CLUE. Why don’t you know that? Because people don’t test for it.. why don’t they test for it? “Because doc said it’s a waist of time if I dOnT hAVe sYmPTOmS”. Now look at you. Fear mongering a virus that prob over half the people on this site already spread unknowingly and now it’s (i’m Not gonna engage in this.. i’m Not gonna engage in that) I can bet there’s about a 90% chance that it’s a little too late for that buddy lol. Don’t get me wrong i’m All for notifying the community and giving people the reality check every now and then to warn and keep people safe but you should’ve already known the risks of these things before now wanting to switch from engaging in xyz to abc. Too much ignorance.

Also the body eventually clears HPV whereas HSV1/2 is for life.

I assume you're suggesting that I won't stay retired and it has certainly crossed my mind that it may be easier said than done. I guess I will just have to jerk off a lot. I'm told that I am fortunate to have HSV-1 and that I might never have another outbreak and can take anti-viral meds to make that even more likely, but still have no desire to return to hobbying.
Oh it's HSV1. A good portion of the population has it. One of my regulars has it. I just put on a condom and avoid DFK the odd day she gets cold sores, while she treats it with Abreva. 90+ sessions with her and I still haven't been infected.

I may consider retiring from the hobby, save the money and travel or go back to photographing models.
How do you photograph models without wanting to have sex with all of them?

The reality is that I have a good marriage with a decent sex life at home and just saw pros a few times a month (sometimes less) because my wife could not keep up with my libido and I got tired of bugging her for sex.
OP, you may be delusional as it seems the "Sex Life" part of your marriage leaves you wanting... A major aspect of your marriage is not working.

One of the many reason I try to stick with one SP. Cuts down on the risk factor, but I understand for some the fun part about the hobby is the variety.
