They broke into my locker, I had a master lock Speed lock like this one.
Is a key padlock better? the lock was missing so I don't know if he found a way to open it or he cut it open. Fortunately he only took money. I now leave the stuff in the car but I'm still worried, is there a brand or a style that's hard to open? Thanks
That sucks sorry to hear. If someone wants to break into a locker not much is going to stop them. I leave nothing of real value in there and wear a small waist bag with my keys, etc. Always keep stuff of value on your person.
Copy that. Many years ago I watched crime stoppers. It showed a fellow whose locker was broken into. The thief used bolt cutters, carried inside a large bag. In the TV recreation, the locker room was empty. The thief stole the guy's cash and credit cards. However, this was not the end of the story. The thief went to a jewelry store, used the stolen credit cards, then returned the credit cards while the victim was still working out. When the victim returned to his locker, he saw that the lock had been compromised, but only cash was taken. He did not call the cops. It wasn't until he got the credit card statement several weeks later that he saw the fraud. At that point he did call the cops. I don't recall if they found the perp. I often find that many lockers are being used without locks. To me this is an ad that there is nothing worth stealing.
In at least one branch of the YMCA there is a wall of miniature lockers, in full view of the desk. Members can stash their wallets, watches & other valuables.
