Why do women have orgasms?

It's the same reason as men. When they don't have sex, they get sexually frustrated and seek sex. The orgasm is the "reward" and they no longer feel sexually frustrated, and they are now pregnant.
This is the same thing as rewarding someone who is hungry. They feel "full" and satisfied.

Why do women have orgasms? Women have orgasms for the same reason men do: To make sex desirable. Without sex the species wouldn't exist — duh!. The pre-humans who liked sex fucked often, and spawned more offspring than the ones who found it dull and boring. So the orgasm gene 'won' then, and predominates now.
I was just about to write the same thing. From a purely biological aspect, the orgasm causes contractions which help the little spermies on their journey.
Agreed, woman have orgasms for the same reason that men do, simply to facilitate conception and procreation. The female orgasm helps sperm meet the egg. If you make a woman come real hard then it means that at that moment her body wants to become pregnant, but of course human's complicate the process and just may want to enjoy the sex without the pregnancy.
Other animals generally only have sex for procreation and not pleasure, some only have a specific mating season.
The science makes sense. Here are 2 other reasons that i can think of
1. Some men feel good knowing they made a woman orgasm (which is why some women will fake it. The same women will also tell a man "Oh my god your cock is HUGE!". It's all about stroking the man's ego..even if it may be faked.
2. The woman knows having an orgasm (or faking one) will make the man orgasm faster.
The most memorable is when my ex and I orgasmed at the same time.

Or just could be same reason that men have nipples. We evolve as one species. For women they are essential for feeding babies. Our naughty bits become female or male and orgasm for males is essential for ejaculation hence reproduction by men. Thus women would have that capability.
