Rod Laver has more than 200 career singles titles. Most in history.
No other man in history has won the calendar grand slam and the Rocket did it twice. In'62 and '68 but was barred for the 5 years in between, from '63-'67. He was robbed of the 5 best years of his career. Who knows how many he would have won?

And Fed has better numbers than Nadal, so I don't think making assertive comments about GOAT is appropriate.

Why can't you guys (Darts, Shack) just appreciate that match this evening because it was epic and intense! Initially I was cursing Medvedev for standing so far back on Nadal's serves and not being particularly aggressive in the rallies. He seemed to be trying to out-Nadal Nadal. I stopped watching for a while after the second set because the results were so predictable. The intensity of those last two sets was amazing to watch as Medvedev's strategy started to work. Just some incredible defence and shots by both players but in this case, unlike the women's final, the more experienced player prevailed.

Her record is truly remarkable, the only player to beat her outright,in 2019, is Julia Goerges. Up to Indian Wells she played 8 qualifying matches, she got laid low by the heat and humidity of Melbourne, she withdrew in the 3rd round. With so many matches her shoulder gave out.

Beijing is a mandatory tournament like Indian Wells and the Roger's Cup, just below the Grand Slam. Since she's now in the top 10, she doesn't necessarily have to compete but she will. She'll want to get as close to No. 1 to give herself the best possible draw for the Australian Open. After that comes the Season ending Tournament of Champions in Singapore. Maybe, maybe not. Laver had to go against Ken Rosewall, John Newcombe, Stan Smith and Arthur Ashe. Makes you wonder what they could have done with today's rackets. The difference is tennis in the 60's was the domain of Americans and Australians, it started to become international in the 70's.

It's a matter of succession, after 69 Laver lost every match he played against Newcombe, after 74 Newcombe lost every match he played against Jimmy Connors.......
