The Fire Pit!!!! I totally forgot about that place. The location I used to go to was near my school at Yonge and Empress. (Near Mel Lastman Squar).Great memories, buddies and I would race our sportbikes on the Gardiner and actually get airborne over the "hump". Probably thrown in jail if we did that today.
Anyone remember the original Fire Pit burger joint beside the bowlarama in Rexdale? Loved that place!
Think the one in Rexdale was the original, must have franchised it. Probably not around. There was also the Steak Queen further up the street. Was the place the late Rob Ford was videotaped drunk, talking Jamaican patois lol.
Oh what a great memory! I remember saving my pennies from various odd jobs when I was11 and buying a digital clock radio. The digital read out was neat but what I hadn’t anticipated was falling in love with music from radio stations all over. It was my first window into how large the world of music was and could be. This is late 70’s/early 80’s, an awesome time for music.I don't know if anyone has mentioned this one, but I'm sure most of us can recall Consumers Distributing, and the catalogue that would be sent to your home. Mass merchandising that was similar to the old LCBO format where you would walk in an complete a form that was presented to the clerk behind the counter. Not a bad spot if you wanted a deal on some common items...

Some of the best memories from my high school days in Etobicoke.....heading downtown to the big 3 record stores at Yonge/Dundas : Sam's, A&A, Music World.
The best prices in town on albums, usually $4.99 or even $3.99 vs the suburbs at $6.99 or more.
Also loved Jack Flash ( or something like that ) head shop.....great selection of posters and bootleg live albums.
And of course, the best highlight....Le Strip!!!
Those stores were north of Dundas on Yonge. However, Sunrise had a store south of Dundas on Yonge before they moved it across from Sam's. A visit to all 4 stores with $20 meant I'd go home with 4 albums. Some of the best memories from my high school days in Etobicoke.....heading downtown to the big 3 record stores at Yonge/Dundas : Sam's, A&A, Music World.

Speakers Corner on City TV was always good for insite on what was on people's minds. Some serious issues and some LMFAO material! I guess it became lame once people had access to all of the social media that has infiltrated our lives...
