WTF is wrong with people?????

An elderly woman was killed in 2 hit and runs today.

First she was hit by a fuel truck (witnesses say that it ran right over) driver left scene, quite possibly he did not realize he hit a person (he has since been found by police), secondly, she was then hit by a white coloured sedan which dragged her further down the road, the driver apparently stopped, got out of car and asked people what happened, got back into car and sped away.

I suspect a lot of these incidents where the drivers bail they either have warrants or are driving without insurance.

Doesn't justify leaving a person to die in the road.

People have to realize that in this day and age , there are cameras everywhere, he'll eventually get caught.

...Or a licence, have a gun, meth, coke, stolen property in the vehicle...which may be stolen too. Drunk, stoned or just the common fucking `tard that is often seen these days. Yeah I watch Live PD too, incredible how many traffic stops find some or all of the above.

Terrible. There are still so many hit & run cases in the GTA that are still outstanding.

At least they got the fucker driving the truck. The other fucker, apparently a brown guy according to eyewitnesses, should be in police custody shortly.

This is because our society for some reason reinforces the belief that drivers are responsible for everything, and that pedestrians/cyclists are responsible for nothing. So the latter group stops taking care of their own safety, which leads to quite a few incidents that could otherwise be avoided.

Back to the topic, though. What is wrong with people? I imagine the truck driver is likely clueless as to what happened. The other driver probably panicked, or had some kind of mental deficiency.

This is absolutely terrible.
Besides the reasons you mentioned, these hit and run accidents were also likely attributable to texting while driving as well.

As the operator of the lethal weapon, society should be reinforcing that drivers bear the ultimate responsibility. Sadly though, many vehicle drivers just don't give a fuck. I'm reminded of this every time I'm on a 400 hiway. Defensive driving is a dying/dead notion.

A major problem are pedestrians and joggers wearing headphones. They are oblivious to the world around them. Many are the times I try to make conversation with nubile young ladies and thought they were ignoring me when it was actually because they didn't hear me because headphones.
