Agree. The Jays are on the right path of patience. As far as Vlad is concerned, he needs bats around him to force pitchers to throw him strikes and that is not this year. I suspect they will go to the FA market over the winter with that being a top concern.

If he continues to flop I suspect he will be sent down, right now all he is learning is how to strike out

What's the name of the Red Soxs rookie who was their best player in April, was it Michael Chavis? He wasn't as heavily scouted by other ML teams the way Vladdy was. Vladdy will soon catch up, he needs to be in the second spot...provided those behind him don't start hitting ants.

Good news about Vlad Jr, he set two club records: his 118.9 miles per hour single in the first inning was the 2nd-hardest ball hit in the Majors this year and the hardest Blue Jays hit registered in the Statcast era. The second record was reaching base 4 times in a game on 2 singles and a walk, making him at 20 years and 56 days the youngest Blue Jays hitter to do it

My understanding was that once their young core is entrenched then they would spend to augment and add the missing pieces required to make them a contender.

My question is from what we have seen and what we apparently have on the farm, how many of these guys would make up that good young core? Vlad, Bichette, Biggio, maybe Telez, maybe Gurriel. And we still don't know if any of them will actually make an impact in the majors, including Vlad. It is all still speculation. How many pieces would they have to add? Our rotation is weak as well.

I know this is "only" 4 years into a teardown and the team is still getting less competitive year over year. How many players and how many more years do we need based on what we have?

IMO, with Rogers resources and a market of 35 million people it is an insult to that fan base to have a $30M payroll. What other fan base of that size would accept a process with this seemingly lengthy time frame and lack of entertainment from one of the wealthiest owners in the league. Maybe I am missing something, but I don't get it.

The Blue Jays will have a payroll significantly north of $30Mm in 2020.

OK, I may be slow but I got it. You are right. That would be an amazing feat. Maybe not HOF, but verrry difficult to do.

We can always count on Phil to enlighten us.

4th round of the Byron Nelson
Cubs vs. Brewers
Raps and Phil (just the last 30 seconds, but why watch any more of any NBA game)

I missed any car racing, darts or poker.
