Call me Ishmael.
I don't care.
I have a "trouser trout"... that she should be "reeling in".

"Me love you long time, numba one!"

Doesn't quite roll off the tongue like "Me love you long time, baby!". :couch2:
I know!

When I was in Thailand, I was handing a girl off to my friend and she said, "but you said you love me long time?"

I'm still laughing about that line...and she said it only cuz I brought it up as a joke. They don't actually say that over there, but she was sharp enough to pick up on that. What a sweetie she was!

yes, "babe" is just too familiar for someone i don't even know. Rather just stick to the lfk, dfk, daty, digits, dato, cbj, bbbj, fs, etc, etc until we get to know each other a little better

Bugs me too. That said, I note that this term is not used by the “higher end” providers.
What do they call you when they don't know you?

As much as babe, honey seems phony, I didn't see any post here as to what people think the alternative should be? Lordship?

"Yes, master". :spit:
None of you get "hey dickhead"? Hmmm...must be just me....

Seriously I don't mind the "babe" or "hun", we got more "luv" or "mate" back in the old country...

I cannot imagine any text or phone conversation when SP will need to call someone by name or nickname. It is not like there are many people in the room and you will not know whom she is talking to. Even if you are lost in her in-call bathroom, she can still say "Hi there, how you are doing?" without calling you by anything.

You must be a Brit? I wonder if "luv" would be better over here? I've occasionally gotten "luv" on a first communication, here. It's rare, but it does happen. It's kind of cute, because it's so rare here, but if it was used more often, I wonder if it would become as annoying as "babe"?

Wouldn't "mate" in the UK be something guys use with each other? Like guys here use "buddy" or "dude" use with each other? Wouldn't "mate" be weird coming from a woman to a guy?
It's Australia if ya must know, and a down to earth dinkie di lady might call you mate....

For me, "hun" is the absolute worst.
It immediately puts a picture in my mind of an old, saggy, unhealthy woman with a gravelly voice.
A complete turn-OFF.

I’m a provider and this even drives me crazy haha. I don’t like when gentlemen use it in their introduction and I never will either.
I always thought this made me sound more cold, but really I just find it awkward. I won’t say it in person either.

I just ran into this thread -- I haven't looked at the board for awhile. " Hi Babe" is probably a way for the girls to maintain some emotional distance from us guys, charming as we are. But what the heck. You know her name isn't really Bambi Love, and she knows you're not really Curtis Hardwick, or whatever you're calling yourself this time. So if she wants to call me Babe, it doesn't bother me.

Personally, I don't like being called 'babe' at all. It's unpersonal and my name is Désirée, not babe.

Meh.. the only pet name I don't tolerate is "baby" due to trauma reasons as a teenager. Anything else is cool with me.
