Every country has some degree of socialism and no Democratic candidate is advocating "100% Socialism now!".....so the only question is what note of the socialist scale will we choose to sing and will it sound like the Morman or the Bourbon Tabernacle Choir?

All or almost all first world countries started out as capitalist countries. Socialism can only exist where capitalism is the "goose that laid the golden egg". It's nice to talk about spreading the wealth but somebody has to create the wealth first.

What Bernie and AOC are offering is not socialism in its truest form at all. there are certainly socialist elements but neither is describing an abandonment of capitalism. That is of little consequence as simply labeling them in that way will be enough to scare the uninformed GOP base and the wealthy who dislike any encroachments on the free market unless they are to help large corporations and the wealthy. Most Americans only believe in socialism for the rich or when it benefits them directly.

Most of the right wingers here are very binary in their thinking with regards to socialism.
Either you're a total commie/socialist or you are for free markets.

But nobody advocates for total socialism or a totally free market.
As long as we have public roads, schools, army, etc its going to be a compromise system.
Then its just a question of which is better supplied by the gov't or by the market.

It is not much of a prediction to guess that anyone running on a socialist platform will be swept aside. With a good economy, Bernie's message will ring hollow. And it does, already. Also explains why Biden is running away with it, although it's still too early to make it firm.

Taxes on the rich and single payer, government health care consistently all poll way more popular than Trump.
Try again.

Are you in agreement with it as well??
Yes I am.

Unfortunately Biden is NOT. He supports Wall St. , Credit card companies and Banks over people. Look no further than Warren and her clashes with him. It's what made her a Senator. And in the Debates it will all come out.

Not exactly, as Biden promised to reverse the tax breaks to the richest!!

Middle-class tax reform: Biden identifies a tax code that is excessively friendly to investors rather than workers as a central problem and calls for higher taxes on rich business owners’ passive income in order to finance things like a tripling of the Child Tax Credit and other benefits for middle class working people.
Power for workers: This is the area where Biden’s thinking is most distinctive. He calls for “laws that allow labor unions to flourish and fight for basic worker protections” but also for a suite of new kinds of protections that operate outside the scope of traditional union-focused labor law. Biden wants a ban on non-compete agreements, a suite of measures to ensure that workers can discuss their pay without fear of retaliation, and stronger measures against wage theft. Separately, Biden has been stumping for a $15/hour minimum wage since 2015, when the Obama White House’s official position was $12.

Biden is lying. Pure and simple. His Donations and fundraisers, as well as his voting and legislative record say otherwise.

His clashes with Warren, his false waffling in hearings are a matter of public record. That is the crux. He can't be trusted on this because he has proven in the past not to be believed in these matters.

You are putting Biden on the same level as Trump?? Yes, he has clashed with Warren just like Trump did with practically every other of the fellow Republican nominees. So all of them were liars then. But you still loved that party and Trump for all they stood for then!!

Nope, as Hillary Clinton, another Wall St. Owned, warmongering, fake progressive.

His record voting for war and financial industry friendly legislation is a matter of public record.

He has come out in support of war in Venezuela and is on public record supporting direct military action in North Korea.

Go look up Joe Biden and Credit Card Companies. Then tell me he is for the little guy.

I still think it will be interesting to see if/how Biden distances himself from some of the democratic-socialist nuttiness like the Green New Deal.

He will try to discuss as little of substance as possible. And when he can't he will place his foot firmly in his mouth.

So you are saying that you prefer Trump to Biden???? Then you say that you are a Sanders' supporter. I think that you are very confused.

I showed you the links and what he is campaigning for, but all you do is coming up with random allegations. Sometimes a link or links can help to justify one's argument.

Anyway, we were discussing about his tax cuts and the links contradicted your statements!!

Lol. I prefer Sanders to Biden. Now where my backing lies depends on the conduct of the DNC. Rigging the Primary again will not go down well with the electorate and will, whatever my thoughts, result in a 2nd Trump term.

His long history and votes in the Senate contradict his "promises" now. Actions speak far louder than words.

Which leaves you as a Trump supporter backing a man who has done nothing but enrich himself at the public's cost.
Lol. I notice you are again incapable of anything but ad hominim attacks.

How about you state who out like out of the Dems? Or even if you prefer Biden or Sanders.

Because right now all I see is weak trolling. Or as the previous top poster used to say.

All sputter and no content.

Like when they gloatingly post a poll that also says the majority of Americans support the socialist dream of universal health care.
