After Backpage shutdown, Toronto police say LeoList is emerging as a destination for human trafficking

Over the past several months, Toronto police have charged eight people with multiple offences in four separate investigations. They're alleged to have used LeoList for human trafficking purposes.

Police are expected to announce charges related to two more human trafficking investigations next week, including one involving "a man who purchased the sexual services of a 12-year-old on LeoList," said Tramontozzi.




This report will garner attention, be careful. This is in Toronto but in the past we've seen how police like making a few arrests to show the public they are doing something. Stay safe!

Problem is they may start to make an example with consentual adults and with the Conservatives in charge in Ontario this maybe a push towards stronger enforcement. I don't trust Conservative goverments with the religious voting block behind them. In the US they use trafficking to jusify going after the entire industry.

I just posted in MERB a few days ago for the first time. I joined there the same time I joined here, in 2002, so right around 17 years or so for me. I was just a lurker over there haha.
