To me this just sounds like profiling

E.g.. woman says she’s been raped by tall heavy built black man. That’s the first suspect cops would go looking for too then, no? To me it seems like he was trying to find the perpetrator .... even funnier because it’s Liam Neeson

He's right about the beta male thing. I suspect well over 95% of actors fall into the beta category. I can hardly think of a less masculine job than playing pretend for a living.

Neesan was either a troubled or stupid 26 year old, and he isn't much smarter today to mention those thoughts in his past. What did he expect to gain? That's like someone disclosing warped violent sexual fantasies to a worldwide audience when it's best kept to yourself.

Twisted story.

He had violent thoughts to commit a violent action, not racist thoughts to complete a racist (violent) action.

Liam Neeson is as racist as the next guy, which is pretty racist. He should have kept his moth shut. Now it will cost him. Since he is at the end of his career it will not cost him as much as if he was at the beginning or middle. He has three new films in post production, two in pre production and one announced film in the works. He may get sued for the lost earnings of all these films.

It's really strange because I could have sworn that he saved Jews during the holocaust. He went from being a non-racist into a racist.

Except for me, who among us have never said things in anger that we didn't really mean when someone close to us is harmed? What is important is that he did not assault and definitely did not kill anybody.

Those dreams are nightly....
I made up a joke about Ron Jeremy sucking himself off as the halftime show during the Superbowl, it went over well.

Neeson hasn't been himself since his wife Natasha Richardson was killed in a skiing accident in Quebec. Contrary to what was said at the time, Neeson did not return to complete his scenes for Atom Egoyan's Chloe, forcing him to do an emergency rewrite. I'm not certain but he hasn't been back in Canada since. It doesn't exclude his racist comment, he may have said it out of insecurity. The film he made with Viola Davis is called Windows, his male co-star is Jon Bernthal. At the moment Bernthal is taking all the role that Neeson would have gotten as a younger man.

That film was called “Widows”, not “Windows”, it came out just after TIFF last year and was generally well-reviewed. I saw it and thought it was just “meh”. Incidentally (spoiler alert) though Neeson and Davis play a seemingly happy married couple, he does try to kill her at the end of the movie.

Yes , in this crazy liberal world, you must forgive for anyone, who murderered or raped a woman or a child 40 years ago, but never who said a racist rant 40 years ago. This world is really sick!

I'm confused.

What I read seemed like he spoke about something he did back.in the day that he learned from in regards to racism and profiling. Why is he being judged for that now?

Are we not allowed to learn from mistakes and talk about them anymore? Did I miss something or read it wrong?

It is not Neeson's rant that is wrong. It is his
stupidity of telling it openly that is wrong.

Neeson is more frustrated than racist. He's been too classy in the past to all of a sudden come out as a degenerate hatemonger.

Supposedly Viola Davis had a huge crush on him while they filmed Widows. Neeson's not getting the character roles he's built his reputation on, he's stuck making cheap action films that come out in February. He was genuinely hurt when Steven Spielberg reneged on his promise to give the Abraham Lincoln role to him. Daniel Day Lewis got an Oscar for the role.

I'm skeptical.

Forgiveness is in short supply these days with regards to racism/sexism. In terms of public perception, he probably would be better off if he had actually killed a guy (with racism not being a factor) than for making this comment about profiling in the past. That's how warped our social values are at this moment.
