I say "cunt" daily, in the open often in public. That's how I pronounce "can't".

Whyever not? In some areas of Scotland it is pretty much used as punctuation...

I can't ever get used to that word. Even when I watch a British drama that word makes me cringe and look around in discomfort.
I think only women and those who wish they are women are allowed to say that word. I try (successfully?) to never use that word.

Old Latin cunnus, I believe would be the origin.

The equivalent in the UK would be to call a woman a cow. Or maybe a slag. That is as offensive as calling a woman a cunt in Canada or the US.
