"The family came to Canada about two years ago after fleeing war-torn Damascus for Kuwait. Their home in Syria has been destroyed. The father was once imprisoned for not joining the ruling political party and would be vulnerable to arrest and severe retaliation should he and the family return home, according to one of the churches that sponsored the refugee family." And the refugee (who was the adult) was released without charge. So there is something very unusual here - with the minor apparently the ring leader. No info on the minor (whether he was a refugee too) because of his age.

Probably pissed off they ended up in Kingston.
Could be because they had to settle in wherever their
sponsors live.

The boy charged was caught trying to get
someone else to plant a bomb. Could be
boredom of living in a small down drove
him mad.

If the FBI hadn't told RCMP about it, this kid may have actually had chance to carry out his plan. Trudeau anti-terror security had no clue, much like Trudeau himself.

It's called agency cooperation.
It's been happening for decades, all over the world.
And it works both ways.

Actually your title exaggerates and mis-states the charges. The RCMP were careful to say there was no evidence that any particular terrorist attack was plotted. The actual offences were all related to the illegal possession and use of explosives. And their spokesperson made it sound a lot more like youngsters seeing if they could actually manufacture gunpowder, than terrorists stockpiling dynamite or C4.

Probably pissed off they ended up in Kingston.
Kingston has all the amenities of a modern city. it's not a rural town in the middle of nowhere. plus there are buses/trains to Ottawa and Montreal

Just last year the mayor approved indoor plumbing and they built the first school in the community.

To be precise, a "Trudeau refugee" has been detained for questions but not charged. The identity of the person charged is not disclosed since they are a youth.

Yeah, it was actually a science project to see if youths can make a bomb that explodes. The youth probably told his/her family that if the project goes awry the bomb could explode unexpectably inside the house (and possibly kill the inhabitants) instead of in a public place as planned.

Have those neigbours told you the youth is a Syrian refugee or are you just hoping?
Because he is a youth we may never know.
Does that make the risk of foolish and reckless fast tracking of Syrian refugees go away?

Does it in any way prove that accepting these refugees was "reckless"?

The known refugee wasn't charged and claims to have no involvement. The charged suspect is unidentified.

Over 300 resources / people were required for this investigation
At least that many will be required in follow up investigations
then there are the court costs, detention & security costs and millions spent trying to "re-integrate" this "youth" into our civilized society
Then if someone makes a mistake somewhere during all this process & his "rights" are violated ..... well we all know the current market price tag for that. $10 MM

& yet our veterans are told "you are asking for more than we are able to give"

It certainly does not reaffirm the argument that proper screening was conducted

How convenient for Justin.
Still as a youth, our young terrorist has rights, we need to respect. Despite the fact he apparently wanted to kill some of us.
I am sure all Canadians feel that much safer because "The charged suspect is unidentified"
believe me a lot of Canadians are asking "How did this happen ?'

Do you think this is a one & done incident ?
