If you follow Weinstein's trial, a lot of what he has been accused, the really bad stuff is bullshit. That was what his sueing the Weinstein company was about, they were holding onto all the evidence he'd collected to clear his name, allowing him to be railroaded by #Metoo. The charges against him are political motiviated to appease feminists, because there is no case, and a lot of unethical behavior on the part of police and the prosecturers.

In Hollywood, you're only as good as your last film, how Woody Allen continues to defy that rule is beyond me, Weinstein was starting to lose his Midas Touch. He release a few bombs and got taken down.

The Oscars is a giant fart anyway. It may be a Weinstein Company film but Wind River was as good as any film that came out in 2017. It was completely ignored, even though the story is critically relevant. Hollywood doesn't give a fuck about Native Americans.

Hollywood's SJWs have been tearing Green Book apart. They have no shame, GB is a beautiful film. I pissed all over Variety for giving them their due in perhaps the pettiest video article that my stomach had to churn through. The saddest part is the Shirley family condemning the film. Don Shirley was a recluse, he may have died alone if Tony Lip didn't bust his shell. Their lifelong friendship is testament to that.

Howard Stern redeems himself, his interview with GB cast member Sebastian Maniscalco is exceptional.

I'm shocked, shocked I say!

Alita: Battle Angel only got $27 million at the domestic box-office on a film with a budget of $200 million. Robert Rodriguez hasn't had a hit since Sin City, imho he's interchangeable with Zach Synder. His cinematography is gorgeous but his storytelling is dehumanizing. Does this mean that audiences are turning against James Cameron? He wrote and produced the film. A:BA to turn a profit will have to earn $420 million globally just to break even. The box office take from international markets is much smaller than what can be glomed from North America. $27 million is very bad news!

Unlike Green Book this film hasn't gotten any sort of bump from the presence of Mahershala Ali, dire news. GB has so far earned $18 million in profits, mainly due to Ali crushing it in True Detective.

Interesting conversation between Ali and Denzel's kid. I don't envy John David Washington's task, he's following the footsteps of an irrefutable legend. If BlacKkKlansman wins Best Picture the Academy would be doing the right thing...even though it depressed the shit out of me.

I was hoping that 2019 would be the year that both Rose Salazar and Florence Pugh would both break. Alita came in well under the $60 it needed to break even. Fighting With My Family opened in the indie market so as not to compete with Alita, it opens wide on Friday. It's getting positive word of mouth but can Lena Headey put aside Cersei Lannister and be a good-hearted mother...and can she wrestle?
