I heard last night that Elements at Woodbine Mohawk Park will have some of their tables going live on December 20th. Should be a great addition to the site without all the bs at Woodbine with the huge crowds.

Both Elements and WMP Racing are currently in renovations to make both sites more guest friendly.

Mohawk Raceway is one of the best harness tracks anywhere. I have been to many other tracks and have found few with the accoutrements that the Milton track has. While most tracks like the late Hazel Park and the late Windsor Raceway were truly dumpy, Mohawk is an excellent and spotlessly clean facility with great food, both in the clubhouse and the food court. The barbecue court outside, with its accompanying country music, is a toe-tapping and gastronomic delight. The slots area, although crowded, will be twice as much fun with tables and newer machines. There is not a bad seat or view anywhere at the track. I personally like going to the rail and feel the hoof beats shaking the ground while my pick crosses ahead of the other horses. With harness racing moving to a year-round venture at Mohawk, one can't go wrong. Highly recommended.

Only issue I can see with Mohawk is the area they are located. They seem to get a lot more snow up there than in the GTA. They may have more race nights canceled due to snow. I've seen them cancel due to fog. Time will tell I guess but I do agree with above statement re Mohawk.

Friend of mine who works there told me Milton FD has been called to the casino a few times due to overcrowding. Friday Saturday nights are chaos there now. Between the casino and the Racetracks busiest nights. Elements have to do their "giveaways" inside the casino as opposed to the Racetrack side as in the past. WEG who owns the building, property is renovating its Grandstand areas.

I have a friend that works there also. They said its hell working for the new operators. OLG was better. Great Canadian is profit driven, since they are a publicly traded stock and have to impress the investors. Whoever is resposible for the gifting program for Elements is just dumb. Friday and Saturday is already their busiest days, why make it more busy when you don't have the facilities and slots to entertain the extra patrons. There is nowhere to walk and no machines to play. Crowded.

Woodbine does gifts also. They do VIP gifts on Friday and Saturday but from 12 - 8 and a lot less people since for VIP. So you don't notice it because it already busy. They do their gifts on Tuesday and Wednesday when its the slower days. That makes sense. Plus they start handing out the gift when there is too much people in line. Elements doesn't hand out until 6, no matter how busy it is.

I wish to update this post. Lately, I still like going to the rail and feel and hear the hoofbeats of up to ten horses shaking the ground while my pick finishes fourth of fifth behind the winners. Drat. Nothing worse than slow horses.

I didn't realize the gifts on weekends were for select patrons only. I don't usually head over on weekends, but the last Sunday I was there the line up for the gift was fucking unreal. about 300 people in line....VIP my ass LOL I just threw the pamphlets with the gift offers they sent me in the garbage. I refuse to wait in line that long.

The "gifts" are crap. At your hourly rate it's definitely not worth your time.

Lmao!!! Exactly. Then i’ll end up going upstairs and throwing down $100 (more than the “gift”) on one single bet since their tables are so expensive.
