Steve Chowder does a good job dispelling anecdotal and emotional based arguments.

Never had much luck with getting a date on campus as an
undergraduate and graduate student because I was not
a rapist but a guy who treated women with respect. Chicks
were more attracted to bad boys.

Didn't watch it all as i got bored. She seemed to have a point if guys were getting away with rape and getting little consequences. I'd say that is a rape culture.

I've never seen evidence that there's some epidemic of rape culture on Canadian campuses. However...college is where young adults experience absolute freedom for the first time, which leads to a tonne of bad decisions, usually starting with getting ridiculously drunk on a frequent basis. Highly inebriated men and women intermingling during their sexual prime is a recipe for a lot of regret. Does rape sometimes occur in these circumstances? Sure does. But the vast majority of the depravity that goes on on campuses is entered into willingly and it's only once the booze and drugs are leaving the system that regret creeps in.

Rape happens quite a bit on Campuses, especially in dorms. A lot of people don't realize that if someone is drunk they cannot legally consent, this causes quite the confusion especially with the amount of parties that go on. Almost everyone (especially the dudes) is trying to get laid.

For a long time universities were not forthcoming about reports of rape. Not sure if that's still the case.

I wouldn't say that university has a rape culture. I think society still has a rape culture. Something's wrong if 1/3 of women are sexually assaulted in their lifetime. Heck read some threads here and you'll see guys stressing that the accused is "alleged" to be a rapist and that the woman is a liar.

Denying that rape is not a problem is the real problem.

frankcastle until conviction the person is only accused or charged. This goes for all crimes. There is still bias in the system and minorities are charged more often on frivolous crimes. Things are getting better but it is still a problem.

I see your point. Maybe I'm not expressing it properly.

It's hard to remain neutral and take a wait and see attitude.

Point I'm making is that there are those that will be quick to defend alleged rapists. With claims like the woman just wants money, she's crazy etc. I find this bothersome because there's no proof that the majority of sex assault claims are false.

Stop lumping rape in with sexual assault to argue that there is a societal "rape culture". No such thing exists.

Google rape culture and sexual assault you'll find them "lumped together"
If what you say is true, that's part of the problem. You and everyone else doing it needs to stop lumping them together.

No there isn't. Rape is not condoned and for every woman that is raped, there are tens of thousands of men that would gladly beat the shit out of the rapist.

I should point out that women who voluntarily sleep around for career opportunities is not an example of "rape" either.

"Behaviors commonly associated with rape culture include victim blaming, sexual objectification, trivializing rape, denial of widespread rape, refusing to acknowledge the harm caused by some forms of sexual violence, or some combination of these.”

When dealing with a well defined term you don't get to make up your own version.
I'm not making anything up. You're using two terms that have different definitions and trying to argue that they're interchangeable.

How convenient that denying rape culture is an example of rape culture. What a brilliant argument! Makes it untouchable then, doesn't it?

That's the problem with debate these days. The moment someone disagrees with you, you accuse them of committing some foul sin. Don't agree rape culture is a thing? You're perpetuating rape!
Considering the hobby we're in, I'd think people would have a little more understanding of the finer points of perspective. Plenty in society would immediately dismiss our arguments as to why this hobby isn't immoral, simply because they think we're perpetuating the exploitation of women.

So... if I touch a woman on her breast this is considered sexual assault. And you are telling me that's the same thing as raping a woman? These terms are defined based on who is doing the definition.

That's part of the problem, as mentioned above.

that is kafkatrapping a typical feminist/left tacitc

The term “kafkatrapping” describes a logical fallacy that is popular within gender feminism, racial politics and other ideologies of victimhood. It occurs when you are accused of a thought crime such as sexism, racism or homophobia. You respond with an honest denial, which is then used as further confirmation of your guilt. You are now trapped in a circular and unfalsifiable argument; no one who is accused can be innocent because the structure of kafkatrapping precludes that possibility.

The definition of rape culture includes sexual assault. I assume it's just easier to say rather than "rape and sexual assault culture"

I understand the difference between the two but if you take the time to look up definitions of rape culture it includes sexual assault.
