Why. She is popular enough to win on a write in ballot. And instead of voting against she voted present ensuring that the missing Senator's did not affect the outcome.

She did not in any way screw over the vote. And she can still win.

She was voting no. I guess you didn't see the picture where Sen Fiensteiin looked like she was bullying or berating her. Whoever Murkowski's opponent is in the next primary (if she even runs) should use that picture to headline their campaign. They would be a shoo in.
Murkowski was only popular due to her father, a former Senator and Governor.

Just saw Sarah Pitlyk interviewed on CNN. She clerked for Judge (now Justice) Kavanaugh in 2010-2011. She said the Judge (now Justice) is an excellent jurist and a perfect gentleman.

BTW: Justice Kavanaugh's 4 law clerks are all female.

BTW: There are now 5 Catholics, 3 Jews and 1 Protestant on the SCOTUS.
