O
Again, dont care about the history or useless and stupid wars in countries where the states shouldnt be sticking their nose into. Guns kill and there are too many guns in the US and too many people (especially minorities ) are dying. It doesnt happen here, DOES IT
It's dopey US culture, crime, gung ho cops, and typical American bravado...... "Don't talk to me that way! I'm American! This the USA! You wanna a piece of this? Read the second amendment buddy!.... Blam!" And nothing says tough guy bravado more than waving a gun in someone's face.
I actually agree (in a technical sense) that guns don't kill, it's people pulling the trigger. No different than knives. If nobody goes on a stabbing spree, a knife just sits in a kitchen drawer.
The problem is guns are out there like candy and Americans can't handle them. Every other western country has guns (some more than others), but you never get big gun blasting sprees like the US. The US probably has more mass gun killings than all other G20 countries combined. And if not, probably pretty darn close.
There's actually decently high levels of gun ownership ratios in Switzerland and Sweden (and whatever other cool as ice country has guns). Difference is, you don't see big time shooting sprees in Geneva or Stockholm. You don't get school shooting sprees, gangs, disgruntled murder-suicides and other fucktardary the US seems swimming in.
And because Yanks can't handle them is the best reason to control them.
You don't give alcoholics gift cards to the Beer Store. You try to keep booze away from him or he'll go bonkers one day.
