This is a key plank of the bill, which makes it a crime to “knowingly advertise an offer to provide sexual services for consideration,” or money.

The discussion forum isn't an advertisement. The ads themselves might be. But afaik no government agency has been bold enough to risk a Charter free speech defence by attempting to charge any advertising venue.
Peter Mckay wrote the laws hoping SW’s would complain and help enforce any cases. He’s an idiot. He messed-up the bill up so badly it has very little support outside the far right.

I can certainly understand from the guys point of view it can be difficult to find enough research to come to a conclusion if the SP will be what was promised in her ads or by other guys who have posted reviews. One way is to see how long she has been a member on any of the review boards. In most cases if the SP has been on the board for a number of years then she must be providing good service in most cases. You guys can also make use of the private message system in place here on TERB. You guys have friends here so chat with each other in private chat, that works. Another way to get an idea of an SP's personality is how she conducts herself here in the Lounge, if she participates in threads. Hopefully you will be pleased how she interacts with others. There's 3 ideas that may help, I'm sure there are more that would be considered helpful to make a decent decision in setting up a date with a new SP.
I use Twitter. It allows to read hundreds of posts from an SP. I pay very close attention to personality and professionalism. I always see how they engage with people online.

the Original Poster has 24 hrs to edit/delete their own thread
after that you can PM admin and request it be deleted.... happens all the time
dont assume that every thread that is deleted was deleted at the whim of Admin.

Personally, I'd consider anyone who eggs on a certain nuisance who's threatened escorts, outed agencies incall locations and caused them lose business through fake bookings as well as kissing up to a board member who bragged about sexually assaulting an SP because he was butt-hurt about not making it past her screening process because they're a chickenshit who's afraid of making them angry and can't speak up on behalf of a fellow SP and tell that pus bucket what they did was terrible to be a solid avoid.

This seems to be a nonsensical question. How many guys would say "yes, I think deleting negative reviews that may be true is a good thing?" Would make the board effectively useless.

A whole province called Alberta does. They say “yes” with their silence. They say “yes” by continuing to support a site they fully know is deleting legitimate honest reviews. They have a 2nd board called PERB that allows them to write honest review. There’s nothing but crickets chirping in Alberta forums.

Let’s ask a better question. Why do you think they do that?

Assuming "they" refers to Albertans, who knows? But there's a bell curve in this world and some people happen to be on the left side...

Am I incorrect though? A board that only has positive reviews is absolutely useless. There would be no need for reviews. The only thing the board would need would be ads. I see an ad for provider X, I go see provider X knowing all reviews will be positive so no point in reading them. I have a bad time with provider X, I note that my bad review has disappeared, so I just move on to different providers and it becomes a gamble.

I was hobbying long before joining this board. Admittedly it was a gamble. Had some great experiences, had some okays, had some not-so-great ones.

There’s a very bizarre and very boring Mexican Stand-off going on in Alberta where the people who are aware of what’s happening are sitting around and are waiting for someone else to do something about it. They’re happy to complain but actuallly doing something like writing a legitimate review on PERB is inconvenient.

It’s always much harder to defend a principle after you’ve allowed someone the leeway to trample over that very principle for years when it was to your benefit.

I'm a little confused on that last statement. How was it of benefit to the clients? Clearly the deletion benefits the providers who probably get a bunch of customers when they shouldn't because negative reviews that would warn others away are deleted. Or did I misinterpret?

There are also a hell of a lot of us that will never have anything to do with PERB again after the BS that went on there. Lots of negative honest reviews deleted and tons of bans for simply mentioning it. There is a reason that the Alberta and Sask sections are virtual ghost towns. Even if CAF were to collapse I doubt you would see more than a hand full of reviewers return to PERB, I would expect a new western board to pop up.

It’s possible. You have completely different group of people focusing on rebuilding BC on PERB. They’re too busy with BC to focus on Alberta. There’s a lot of very angry and disfranchised review board members in Alberta. Sadly, there’s a real opportunity for a Trump like personality willing capitalize on that anger to create a very ugly review board. Things will take a very sharp and very ugly turn in a very short period of time.

If you’re learning anything from recent history, anger is powerful if you have someone with zero morals who’s willing to capitalize on that anger for their own personal gain.

Please leave the Trump crap in the political forum where it belongs.

I told you exactly why the Alberta board is so empty and why it became that way, no anger, just facts.

I'm not really sure why you feel the need to come to the Toronto board and try and pump up business for Alberta. If you think it can be resurrected more power to you but IMHO after this long it's not ever going to have the traffic it did 7 or 8 years ago. The regulars have moved on and their not coming back. CAF is far from perfect but it's were 99% of Alberta posts right now so I think you may have an uphill battle on your hands.

I wasn’t taking politics at all. I was taking about the consequences ignoring anger. I just picked an example people could relate too.

That ship had sailed. There’s no fixing anything. You either live with it or you move-on.

Any reason Terb doesn't step in and create some new sections for western areas? Obviously the T in Terb would not be very relevant but it's definitely an opportunity.

I disagree. There’s a lot of positive changes happening on PERB. There’s always an opportunity. You have the right to your opinion.
As do you but I highly doubt you'll see much of a change in the next 12-24 months. Maybe in the BC section but 90% of Alberta and SK reviewers will stay away IMHO.

Most boards cycle ever 2-3 years. You’re probably looking at 2019-2020 before you see anything change. It usually happens when people flip-flop after the problems they ignored for years start to impact them.

It’s a spin cycle. Different versions of the same problem new board. Cause all the problems, blame board x, move on board c and start blaming your mistakes on board C. Rinse and repeat.
