If the dealers in Canada were "sketchy",... they wouldn't be allowed to deal guns then,... would they basketcase.

So just because I ask questions you have no answer for,... insinuates a conspiracy theory,... ???

That being the case,...you must have encountered a lot your "conspiracy theory's" in you life time,... I sure as hell wouldn't want to live like that.
I think by sketchy he means gun stores that sell large numbers of guns to a single person. Technically nothing illegal has occurred. But this is a new route for guns to hit the street.

http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/illegal-gun-market-booming-in-british-columbia-police-1.2303501

"Police have long been concerned about guns illegally making their way across the Canada-U.S. border, but a recent rise in gun crimes in B.C. is shedding light on a different weapons source: legal gun owners in Canada.
Police suggest some licensed owners have been legally buying guns and then illegally selling them on the black market, with some of these weapons ending up in the hands of drug dealers, gang members or other criminals"

Gun control laws in Canada have NO effect on illegal guns.

Unless you have traveled extensively in the US, you would NOT state that,... "Canada is more like the USA than we are different".
You're making 2 assumptions

1) that JTK has insufficient experience in the US

2) the degree to which his comment about Canada and US being similar..... 51% to 49% still qualifies as more like than different. I think you are assuming JTK is saying 99 similar to 1% unlike

BTW before you assume I am anti gun I am planning on getting my PAL and a Mossberg 500 field/security combo.

JTK confirmed he had insufficient experience in the US, based on his remarks.

When was the last time you saw something even remotely similar to that bunch of yahoos in Canada, if you also actually had experience in the US, you would know that mentality is far more prevalent in the US than here, and that is the point,... isn't it.

I never assumed anything about your personal life, not interested.

Is the gun for protection, or killing wild animals,... ???

So evidently the authorities know about these "sketchy" sales, but do nothing about it,... ???

Sounds rather ineffective, which when one realises that the majority of guns used in crime, were obtained illegally.

I did not confirm anything with respect to my experience in the USA to you or anyone else. I haven no intention of posting about my experience in the USA here. What I said was that Canada is more like the USA than we are different and that is my position. We speak the same language, we share a similar history, we occupy the same dirt, we have similar forms of government, similar legal systems, similar religions, we are both countries of immigrants, we both have similar values, we watch the same kind of movies, the list goes on and on.

I did however post violet crime statistics and comparisons between Canada and the USA.

You have posted anecdotes as usual.

This what invariably happens when some, frank, butts into some else's conversation.

I still have to disagree with you, that there is quite a lot different culturally about us, and our neighbour to the south.

Part of the Patriot Act prevented them from getting detailed inventories more often than once every 7(?) years and the agency funding does not give them much opportunity.

And yes, you can read up on straw purchases where dealers use fake or other people's names to sell guns to people with criminal records etc.

Obviously my comment was about the bunch of yahoos in james t kirks photo,... about the mob mentality.

You know,... similar to union picket lines....
I have yet to see a union picket line with semi-auto rifles.

And in Canada, a group walking around with baseball bats could be illegal unless they were on their way to/from a game.

Even worse, the ATF knowingly let guns be illegally sold to Mexican cartel members, resulting in the death of a US Border Patrol agent.

Didn't know we had the Patriot Act in Canada,... this "sketchy" discussion was about Canada,... your words "sketchy gun dealers are monitored in Canada"

You should do some research on what "mob mentality" means, before making a fool of yourself again.

And what "law" would that be, that would differentiate by what direction some people are walking with baseball bats ?

Really???? How do you disagree with this?

Don't we speak the same language?
Don't we share a similar history?
Don't we occupy the same dirt?
We don't have similar forms of government, similar legal systems, similar religions?
Aren't we both countries of immigrants?
We don't both have similar values?
Don't we watch the same kind of movies?

Really??? Yes - clearly there is some difference. We have different country names and shit, but are you really disagreeing because you actually disagree or are you just doing it because it is him and you can't be seen as wrong so you have to nitpick? Like seriously, that comment was really dumb.

Oh I see,... my statement,...
"I still have to disagree with you, that there is quite a lot different culturally about us, and our neighbour to the south."

Was dumb.

But you agreeing that we may "occupy the same dirt", confirms that the US and Canada can not be culturally different,... is not dumb.
Oh and the same language,... well that guarantees that the two cultures cannot possibly be different.

You may want to actually read your posts before hitting the submit button, might reduce the chances of posting something dumb next time.
