Still listen to Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell album. Timeless. Saw him at the CNE with another great band back in the day, ELO

George Michael's Faith album was a solid start to his post Wham days.

I am surprised no one mentioned Alanis Morrisette - Jagged little pill.
'Jagged Little Pill' was, of course, not Alanis' debut as Billy Bragg once very amusingly informed an audience at Barrymore's. It was preceded by 'Alanis' and 'Now is the Time' ("the political record", as Mr. Bragg characterized it).

That’s hilarious. I was going to comment as well but I can’t beat this.
