Jays and Orioles now have identical records. It could get very interesting over the last 3 games of the year... Jays actually have something to play for and could quite possibly avoid the basement.

Catching the Rays is much tougher since they're still a win up but with the Rays and Orioles playing each other for the last 3 games... who knows...

I don't see inching past Bal or TB as a valid objective. If Jays finish 3rd on the last day of the season, people will go "Aw gee!" for a half hour and then forget it. And we get a lower draft pick.

OTOH, it's nice to see Josh and Estrada returning to form and carrying the team a little.

Jays got really lucky on Happ though.
I doubt they just picked his name randomly out of a hat.
So when they make a bad move is it just unlucky then?

Shapiro relies heavily on analytics to acquire players and gauge their market values. He’s a pioneer in this space, before Billy Beane made it fashionable LOL Same methods used to give Smoak his contract that left everyone scratching their heads at the time it was signed.

As for the team, We’re nowhere bad enough to get the 1st overall pick, the baseball draft being so unpredictable anyway, I prefer the team, especially the youngsters and players playing for a spot next year to play well and finish strong. With Teoscar’s emergence and several young bullpen arms looking good, it could mean they can spend more on quality players this offseason since there’s less holes to fill.

You argue like a nerd. Or an old man. Regardless, you bore me
He really is sooooooooooo boring, isnt he??

I'm gonna ignore him again for next few months. He's just so tedious :ambivalence:

The fact that you spend so much time complaining about and attacking me says otherwise.

More insults. That's all you have.

BTW, based on your post here, I expect that you will not respond to my posts anymore.

a question to ponder......if we had brought up Hernandez in August, would he have passed Bautista in homers? probably not, but maybe we have a smaller JUdge

I think the secret of Ramirez's success is his funky delivery, and his ability to throw strikes. Because his fastball is just above average

I was listening to the FAN yesterday or the day before and they were talking about how terrible Pilar's swing is, just hacking and missing and swinging at stuff way outside the zone. He needs to work on it during the off season. He has it in him (he was good for a month or so this season), he just needs to gain consistency.

Everybody lost last night so it's coming down to the wire. Can the Jays escape from the basement???

I did notice that when they lost last night, once again that was their chance to pass Baltimore and they missed it. It's been a while but that streak of not being able to win when it matters gets longer and longer.

The entire outfielders needed to be replace and that will include Pillar. But,it will be easier said than done. Find a guy with pop and play defense will not be easy like 123. In Sharpie We Trust. The Minnesota Twins makes the playoff after losing 100 games last season. So,anything can happen with the Jays if they twisted their roster the right way for 2018.

wow, negative talk about Superman Pillar? No way he isn't in center field for the foreseeable future. I thought I was the only one who noticed that he consistently falls into bad habits - his arm is only ordinary (although nice throw last night)..and some of his spectacular catches are because he trails the ball instead of running back to the wall and then waiting for it (Vernon Wells always did that right) and sometimes jumps for balls (TV dives) for balls he just needs to run down....but yes he does make about 5 spectacular catches a year (not even 2 innings worth)......and I am not sure about the mental side - and I am not so sure his homophobic slur was isolated.

Only when I feel like it old man.
But you say my posts are boring, punk. Why would you bother, when you have intellectual, hip friends like Phil?

But back to baseball. How did you determine that the standing ovations lacked enthusiasm?
