Exposing somebody as a foreign agent is not wrong.
Who in the Trump campaign has been pegged as a foreign agent?

Yes it is, undermining a US election by criminal acts against a presidential candidate. Do you really want to see the FSB becoming effectively a superpac with spies and a goal of making policy that is in Russian interests?
Same FSB that is the information source of the Steele Dossier?

Which shows that Trump is potentially a foreign agent?

Again, when we get intel on the enemy, that's a good thing. When the enemy uses espionage against us, that's bad.

Which side are you on? Are you on the side of the FSB or the USA? Please don't cop out and say Canadian, in that case you should exit this debate.

No. The only thing the dossier had was innuendo and salacious rumor. So bad even CNN declined to post it.

The FSB is filled with propaganda liars. Why do you only believe them when Trump is the target?

Your contention that Trump is a foreign agent is laughable. Truly laughable. If that is the basis for your argument then really you are in Canada Man territory of conspiracy theory.

Or as you like to say......Kooky!

I don't know whether Trump is a foreign agent and neither do you, that's the subject of ongoing investigation. We do know that several members of his campaign team were foreign agents, and they have been forced to register as foreign agents now. Kushner and Manafort seem to have actively engaged in collusion with a foreign spy agency, along with Don Jr., and it's likely that the instance we know about (where they failed to get information) is only one of their many attempts at collusion--hopefully Mueller will get to the bottom of it. The question is what Trump himself knew about all of this and when he knew it. Did he know about these things when he decided to fire Comey, hoping to prevent them from coming to light? That's obstruction of justice.

But here's the question:

Do you support the ongoing investigation to find out what's true and what isn't? Or do you want to see Trump wielding that pardon power as a shield to stop any/all investigation into wrongoing by him and his team? That smells like a dictatorship, and I think everyone should be united in denouncing it, as the ultimate check on an abuse like that is massive public condemnation.

No basis for the investigation to begin with either. 6 months and ... nothing. The investigation is simply there to drag on and on as long as possible.
That argument has been used over and over and over and each and every time has been shown to be without merit. The investigation is ongoing and there is no obligation for the investigative teams to give us updates at any time. The only obligation is to give us the final conclusions once they have "fully completed" their investigation. Got it?

Conspired is again the wrong word. Something needs to happen. Nothing occured at the meeting. It was a failure.
Wrong!!! Conspiracy to murder, i.e. planning to murder, is a crime whether or not the murder occurred or if the attempt failed.

What I say Fuji is that you completely and totally underestimate the level of discontent in the American body politic. This makes me think that you are not or are long since past being someone with direct contact with "blue collar" or lower "white collar" folks.

Yup. And I've said so repeatedly.

Do you support investigating all foreign interference and all instances of politically motivated use of foreign agents?

Yup. Only receiving opposition research isn't a crime. That's why conspired is the wrong word. There was no crime.

If there was criminal charges for the act would be in the works. And they aren't. Nor will they ever be.

Any issues arise from non disclosure. And that is an administrative issue, maximum penalty loss of security clearance.

So really your point and comparison are moot and wrong.

I'm not sure how that relates to the topic. We aren't talking about his politics. We are talking about him obstructing justice and colluding with foreign agents. That really is pretty independent of his politics, ANY politicians who does that should be prosecuted, regardless of who they represent.

But in answer to your question, I do think that blue collar and lower white collar workers have very legitimate grievances but I don't think Trump's policies are going to help them. They need things like universal healthcare, not the removal of their medicaid and medicare benefits. At least they need the Affordable Care Act fixed up so that they really can get affordable care -- not repealed so that they're chucked out of the system and left to their own devices.

Overall let me say this: I do exist in and industry and a career that have gained enormously from globalization. I've personally seen my income skyrocket, while the blue collar and white collar workers you mention have seen their incomes stagnate or have lost their jobs. And in both cases because of globalization. There are a LOT of people like me around, and it's more or less proven economics that we collectively have raised incomes and the GDP by more than the losses felt by blue collar workers. In short, there's been a tremendous net gain in the economy, but it absolutely has not been shared equally. People like me have benefitted. My last tax return put me in the top 0.5% of incomes in the United States, and let me tell you -- I could pay a LOT more tax than I do, and it wouldn't significantly change my life.

So I think there's an opportunity to have the cake and eat it too. There's been so much wealth created in the United States by globalization, automation, etc., that there's lot of money to go around. Meanwhile other people have been hurt by the same forces that made me and people like me so much better off. So what's the obvious solution? Tax the winners in order to soften the blow to the losers. Provide good healthcare and good education to everybody. Maybe the 50 year old who's getting laid off from the Caterpillar plant won't be able to retrain for a new job, maybe he's going to have to go on some sort of assistance, work as a Walmart greeter, and not have the greatest life. But I bet he'll be able accept that much more readily if he sees a great future for his childen--if they're enrolled in good schools, and looking forward to successful careers. If we could deliver that to people I think they'd accept the changes much more than they have.

But that's not what people see. They see that they are losing their jobs, and they fear their children will have even worse lives, addicted to opiods, dropping out of shitty schools, having no hope for good healthcare--families going bankrupt as a result. So they despair. And it's so easy to fix that -- better healthcare, good schools, we can easily give these people's kids a real shot.

So I sure think I'm more in touch with the problem than Trump is. He wants to cut taxes even more for people like me, so I can live it up, and enjoy even more wealth, all the while factory workers and lower white collar workers are suffering. Fuck that.

Raise my taxes and cut these people a break already.

Receiving information from a foreign national for the purpose of influencing an election is. That kind of research is not permitted.

Actually you are wrong. Receiving monetary help is. Information isn't.

Or the Steele Dossier and it's release is the height of that. And paid for as well by both the GoP and the Dems. and almost by the FBI.

Sorry dude. It's legal. That's been established. The law does not provide for this.

So you think it's A-OK for Trump and his campaign to collaborate with Russian spies in order to harm the Democratic party?

Start you answer with yes or no.

Perhaps when you answer if you think the Steele Dossier qualifies I may think about it.

You've been avoiding this for awhile. Because both GoP and Dems paid to do just that against Trump.

Actually the law says "a thing of value", not just money. It will be up to real lawyers to determine if the hacked information constitutes a gift in kind.

Because of precedent numerous experts have said the information doesn't count. Because doing so would be a first amendment violation. That dog is dead. The argument put forth and denied.

Up until now "a thing of value" has always been held to be nothing besides money.

I've already told you I don't think it qualifies, I think when our side exposes foreign traitors it's a good thing, and I'm all in favour of whatever means result in traitors being exposed.
