We all had to do them at one point or another. Sometimes there are no other jobs and you have to take whatever job is out there to survive here are mine.

1. Cleaning crew at a slaughter house we wore what look like hazmat suits and masks and had to use hoses that shot hot chlorine to clean the machines blood and guts were everywhere. I lasted one shift and never went back again.

2. Labourer at a used clothing warehouse. I spent 12 hours drenched in my own sweat loading heavy stacks of clothes onto a conveyer belt to be sorted. Oh yeah there was no air conditioning at it was summer.

3. Telemarketer yeah I don't need to explain that one.

4. Washing dishes at Montana's had to use giant drums of bleech to clean the dishes and the water burned my hands

5. Inventory counter the most boring mind numbing job ever we went into stores and just counted stuff my boss was a power tripping asshole who thought he was Donald Trump when he probably earned less then a manager at burger king.

What horrible jobs have you done?

- Telemarketer as a teenager (a lifetime ago). Lasted two weeks at that gig...
- selling chocolates door-to-door (again as a teenager). Lasted only one day at that, as I distinctly remember the sales manager eviscerating the rest of the kids for not meeting sales quota...

Digging ditches in construction

Assembly line work were I had to keep bending over all freakin day

Truck driver. Some companies are horrible to work for breaking every log book rule and treating you like a robot and cheating you on pay and violating safety issues

Worst job for me working at the Body Shop during Christmas. Everyone was so competitive about sales, like push past you rudely to get to the customer first. Second worst job, McDonald's. I was trained by some kid who was power tripping because he earned a few dollars more.

Working at a men's day spa doing maintenance during the summer in my university days. I was quite naive when I was younger and didnt realize what the deal was with the place until I started working there. Luckily, the guys there (who were all gay) made sure none of the guys there approached me as they knew I was not gay. The guys who did the laundry hated their job for reasons I am sure you could envision.

Directly above the center of the earth
Being a kitchen assistant at a summer camp. The equipment was old and falling apart. In a couple of places we used wire hangers to keep the dishwasher together. The kitchen was equipped to serve just over a hundred people, but on a regular day we had to serve double that number. It was hot, the roof leaked, a few of the other assistants couldn't tell their ass from a hole in the ground- they probably created more work. Even the camp director wanted the health inspector to shut the kitchen down, so the shareholders would have to pony up and spend what was needed.

I was hand milking cows for two months in the hot summer, all that pulling gave me cramps in both my forearms...then I quit when I found out I was actually collecting bull semen for insemination of live stock.

I worked for 6 months in a scrap metal yard. The owner was a monster who legitimately didn't care if you lived or died. Crooked as the day is long. A guy got his arm shredded in a metal bailer and he refused to call an ambulance and insisted he be driven down to the hospital instead . He recycled car batteries and we were given ZERO PPE and I got acid burns more then once. Constantly yelling at you.....nothing could be done right. He always kept his employee count under 21 employees.Why?..no requirement of a health and safety committee. The "lunch room" consisted of a table with guys heating their lunches on a heater which was broken half the time. Minus 23 and it was insisted employees take their gloves off while working to get a better grip on items.

I stereotyped a certain ethnic background for YEARS over this guy(it was about 20 years ago now).I went back about 2 years ago with a friend who was taking in some scrap metal and you could just SEE the misery on his employees faces. Am surprised someone has not put a bullet in him by now. That will always be the "Shitty job" standard I hold everything else to

I know an uneducated guy of about 22 yrs old, a wannabe biker type. He did menial minimum wage jobs. His last job was at a Hasidic Jewish chicken slaughter house. His job was to pick up a chicken and stretch its neck and line up with a bunch of losers so that the rabbi could slit the chickens neck. Now the chicken is freaking out screeching, shitting and coughing up blood. At this point he had to break the chickens neck and pluck it.

LOL always good to be in the same thread as the lovely Jessica Steele....but we share a past crappy job too JS...worked at a nameless fast food chain as well, had a manager who tried to motivate high school aged kids being paid minimum wage about how their current work performance "is going to affect your career" in this chain...like we were all jonesin' to be 32 year old assistant night managers some day LOL....we were there for the beer money. Funny, did pop by the place about 15 years after leaving to get a burger...but now with a highest professional degree and a real job.....and seeing this guy was STILL there...glad I took his advice...LOL.

I still haven't heard anyone be able to top my slaughterhouse one lol
I worked in a chicken slaughterhouse once, like you as the afternoon clean-up crew. I lasted 3 days.

They sold every single part of the chicken. I had to shovel chicken feet into bags and take 45 gallon drums of chicken blood to the loading dock. The way that dock smelled in July was beyond description.

To this day I can't decide which job I had as a youngling was worse: roofing in July or pouring cement basements in July. What made them extra terrible is they paid minimum wage and I was desperate for the work.
