Here is the story. My friend went to the TD bank. Deposited 1750 cash at the counter as his May rent. He counted 3 times before the deposit and his wife did it too. The teller counted it twice front of him with the machine and it was 1750$.
He got the printed recipe. There was a 21X20$ item = 420$. They deposited the money on his account. 8 hours later at 7 pm. he got a phone call from the TD and they told him: Sorry it was a miscounting and there were only fifteen 20$ bill. They withdraw the 120$ instantly from his account so there were not enough money for his rent. So he is ran for an other TD bank what was open until 8pm and deposited enough cash to cover his rent.
It just doesn't make any sense. I can believe maybe they miscounting 1 twenty dollar bill but six?? Come on!!
Just not possible. He checked the money, his wife checked the money, the teller checked it twice. He got the recipe where is the money listed. How many 5,10,20,50 and 100$ bill was there. The total was 1750$. Today morning he went to the bank and they show an other recipe what is show only 15X20$ bill. They told him after the bank closed, they recounted the all deposited money and only 15 pieces of 20$ was there and showed him the recipe from he recounting bills. So what he can do? They don't show him the security record or any evidence just told him technically : "fuck off". My friend want to go to the police and report a theft under 5000. Then they have to show the record for the police officer. Very sad if someone has a sticky fingers in the bank and my friend and I don't know how many clients in the past has to pay for it??
If I go to the bank and they give me 120$ less what I withdraw, can I go back 8 hour later and tell them: Hey I recounted the bills and 120$ less. Give me that 120 right now. I think they will kick me out. So anyone who had an advice I'm glad to hear it. Thanks!
