Pregnant Woman Murdered

I just don't understand why someone would commit a horrific crime like this. His wife was nine-months pregnant!
Beautiful lady, his Facebook shows him as some douche bag from that moved here from Miami... Probably already halfway back to Florida, hope they catch his ass quick

You and I will never understand because we are normal people. This bastard sounds like a real low life. The police might charge him for two murders. What I will never understand is why a superstar neurosurgeon like Dr. Shamji murdered his wife.
I'm sorry but that is absolutely disgusting. This man not only killed ONE person but TWO human beings. As soon as they catch this douche ( pardon my French) I'm sure he will be facing two counts of murder and facing a lifetime in prison. I'm pretty sure in the states some states still have the dealth penalty? I'm not too sure though but that is so sad... may her and her beautiful baby rest in peace . God bless her family. She was only 27. That is a tragedy... 
He will probably end up committing suicide in prison....or his inmates might make it look that way.

Unfortunately since the horrific crime was committed in Canada the death penalty will not be on the table. Perhaps a lawyer can weigh in but I don't believe he can be charged for the second murder. Remember the fetus has no rights in Canada until it is born.
Wondering if there is more to the story. Maybe the wife confessed to the child not being his.
Does not justify murder. But sometimes people lose control of their emotions and a crime of passion unfolds.
Hope this guy is remorseful and gets what he deserves nonetheless.

I'm inclined to agree. AFAIK the fetus has no legal status until it is born alive and viable, so that its purported rights cannot take precedence over those of its pregnant mother. Rights only crystallize once the baby is born alive.
That said, the rationale behind Supreme Court of Canada decisions on this matter relate to legal action taken against pregnant women in relation to injuries sustained in utero. This can be distinguished from a third party killing a pregnant woman and her fetus, although the principle stated above likely still applies.

Scenario is very similar to Dr. Shamji. A history of mental and physical abuse prior to the murder. A major difference is that Dr.Shamji was a superstar neurosurgeon and this other guy is just a low life.
