The nice folks @ yahoo decided not to tell anybody about the hacks! Who cares if the bad guys have access to all your info? Right.

Then they decided to sell the company because they were F*cked anyways. Verizon (the buyer) found out during due diligence and subsequently pushed the deal value down by 350 million. The CEO of course will make 23 million!

No one blaming it on Muslims?
There's a 70.2% possibility that the Canadian or the Kazak or both is a Muslim.
"Islam is the largest religion practiced in Kazakhstan, as 70.2% of the country's population is Muslim according to a 2009 national census. Ethnic Kazakhs are predominantly Sunni Muslims of the Hanafi school."

Not sure about the other 3 suspects.

Two of them are supposedly Officers of the FSB. Hence extremely likely to be ethnic Great Russians.

Ok, but I heard that Russia has a huge Muslim population.

"So, the number of Russian Muslims is usually calculated by adding members of all ethnic groups in the country, which are traditionally Muslim, like Tatars, Bashkirs and Chechens. Thus, according to the latest data, there are about 16 to 20 million “ethnic Muslims,” that is 12-15 percent of Russia's population.Jan 26, 2016"

Seems he knew he was going down.

U.S. charges 22-year-old Canadian
http://news.nationalpost.com/news/world/russian-hackers-charged-in-yahoo-data-breach

Using a technique known as “spear phishing,” Baratov allegedly went after dozens of accounts for the FSB. “Specifically, Baratov sought and gained unauthorized access to Google and other webmail provider accounts as requested by Dokuchaev, sometimes after Dokuchaev’s discussions with Suschin,” the indictment said. He was paid a “bounty” when he was successful, it said.

Other recent online posts suggested things were not going his way. On January 13, he posted, “Be careful who you trust. Make sure everyone in your ‘boat’ is rowing and not drilling holes when you’re not looking; the saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies.”

Gennady Golovkin is not Muslim though.
Who cares if the hacker is Muslim.

Kudos to President Trump and the Trump Department of Justice for taking these bastards down. This Canadian or Kazak or whatever will face American justice, not the gentle lenient crap that Canadian courts hand out to criminals here.

P.S. Who said that Trump is soft on Russians?
The Star notes that Trump's support of Russian hackers has now isolated him.
https://www.thestar.com/news/world/...p-is-isolated-even-in-his-own-government.html

This was the FBI investigating Russian hackers, like they are investigating the Trump/Russia connections.
Not Trump.

They were hired guns. Trump didnt take anybody down until he goes after Russia who sponsored it. And he NEVER will. Thats now how payment for favors work.
