AVOID Antibacterial Mouthwash

I know a lot of us, especially our SP girls use a lot of antiseptic mouthwashes, and I just wanted to share this info to better all of our health. I've been using antibacterial mouthwash (I thought alcohol free was good enough) 2x every time I see an SP, before and after, and noticed some gut issues recently. I thought this would be preventing STIs etc, but killing 99.999% of all of your healthy bacteria over and over again will lead to a lot of problems. I am now only using natural mouthwash.
Here are some facts I found:

A recent study published in the journal Free Radical Biology and Medicine found that using an antiseptic mouthwash twice daily kills off the good bacteria that help blood vessel walls relax, increasing the risk of coronary heart disease, heart failure, stroke and a variety of other health issues.

By killing off all of the bacteria in your mouth, you are actually increasing your risk of heart disease(2) instead of decreasing it, even if you use the mouthwash for just a short amount of time.

Antibacterial mouthwashes can reduce this protection [nitric oxide], putting you at risk of getting infections such as H Pylori and C-difficile, [candida / yeast overgrowth etc], as well as gut inflammation that can lead to Increased Intestinal Permeability and contribute to Gluten Sensitivity, Food Allergies, and even autoimmune disease.

Avoid mouthwashes with chlorhexidine (Listerine etc.)) and cetylpyridinium chloride, such as Crest Pro Health Rinse, Scope, Cepacol, Dentyl, Act, and many others. If you still want to use a mouthwash to freshen your breath, try one that’s made of natural herbal ingredients instead of a chemical one that bills itself as antiseptic.

“The mouth is the first meeting place between the alimentary canal, the immune system, and the outside world. It’s pretty important!”

It's always something. For example, green tea is suppose to be good for you but "too much" can damage your liver.

Put a pinch of cinnamon on your tongue and swirl it around your mouth. Don't rinse.

Its interesting....for 1000s of years humans have not used anti-bacterial hand washes, mouth washes etc.

I for one, rarely use them, unless I am cooking or something like that. I believe we are weakening our immune system by overuse of them.

I think the life expectancy of these humans pre-1850 was 40 years or less. However, it is true that we are now not exercising our immune system enough.

For thousands of years we didn't wipe our asses after a shit. Other animals seem to get by, why can't we? :playball:

Everything in moderation, probably a study might show that ass wipe increases the risk of colon cancer, who knows?? Customs that go against current social trends tend not to gain much traction so mouth rinsing, ass wipe, pubic hair removal, daily hair washing etc. will not disappear anytime soon even they go against nature. Animals don't wear clothes so maybe the ventilation negates the need for ass wipe, no fibers that don't breath. Also there is no evidence to suggest that over the counter mouth wash has any effect on reducing stds, there are millions of pathogens so the claim that 99.99% of them are killed might be true but still leaves millions untouched, a clever marketing gimmick like Trump rhetoric.

They didn't take showers or use deodorant nor did they wipe their asses either.

I gather that they stunk to high heaven. There's a reason hunters of old would try and get downwind of their prey.

While the caveman diet is popular these days, caveman hygiene is not recommended.

Listerine does NOT contain chlorhexidine. I know because you need a prescription to order a mouthwash that does, which is used to kill bacteria after oral surgery.

Active ingredients in Listerine include thymol, eucalyptol, methyl salicilate, and menthol. It is interesting that, though the product is very effective, it does not contain chlorhexidine, cetylpyridinium chloride, chlorine dioxide, or any of the other chemicals so ubiquitous in other brands of mouthwash.

As for your post, I will check with my Periodontist who has lectured at the U of T Dentistry School. All I've heard is that mouthwashes with alcohol can irritate your mouth or gums, so warm water with salt is good too. It's bacteria at your gums which can cause gum disease and tooth loss.

Unless you swallow it, how does mouthwash destroy the "friendly" bacteria that live in your intestines?

Also you can take probiotic capsules such as "Florastor" to replenish that bacteria.

But how does a antibacterial mouthwash prevent nitric oxide production in the arterial walls throughout the body? Nitric oxide is not even a bacteria it is a molecule.

Everything in moderation!

No different than brushing your teeth. If you're someone who brushes 5-6 times a day, you are overdoing it and likely killing your gums.

Or drinking too much water and getting sick. Or those idiots who drink too much in a short time and die (hazing).

Or washing your face too much with soap and low and behold..... you now got major dry skin on your face.

Listerine contains "alcohol (26.9%)", or listed as "ethanol", which is even worse. You can check the research on that

Your mouth has billions of healthy bacteria, which is directly linked to your gut as well. "Using an antiseptic mouthwash kills off beneficial bacteria living on the back of the tongue, thereby interfering with the body’s ability to create nitric oxide". I'll answer the functions of nitric oxide below...

But how does a antibacterial mouthwash prevent nitric oxide production in the arterial walls throughout the body? Nitric oxide is not even a bacteria it is a molecule.
Answers are found here: http://www.side-effects-site.com/antibacterial-mouthwash.html
Bacteria in your mouth make nitric oxide that protects your heart… unless you use antibacterial mouthwash that kills these bacteria. “These results suggest that oral symbiotic bacteria modulate gastrointestinal and cardiovascular function via bioactivation of salivary nitrate. Excessive use of antiseptic mouthwashes may attenuate the bioactivity of dietary nitrate.” Gastroprotective and blood pressure lowering effects of dietary nitrate are abolished by an antiseptic mouthwash

Several studies have shown that these antibacterial mouthwashes actually do reduce the amount of nitric oxide that is produced, to the point where blood levels are measurably reduced and blood pressure actually rises! Not only does the reduction of nitric oxide put you at risk of heart disease, but nitric oxide also helps the stomach to produce mucus, providing immune system benefits and protection from ulcers.

There's little need to use mouthwash constantly every day. But if you show up to an appt and expect DFK most of us would be turned off if you refuse to use mouthwash. I doubt anyone is hobbying multiple times a day every day. I have little interest in DFK with someone who has awful smelling breath and especially in winter when people have colds and flu germs I'm creeped out at a higher risk without both parties using mouthwash before engaging. The true antibacterial mouthwash does need to be prescribed, it's not the same as listerine. Fresh breath before intimacy please. :)
Yeah I'm very keen on hygiene before any kissing, so I make sure to brush my teeth, scrape my tongue, and when I'm at the location I use a natural mouth wash as well and chew minty fresh gum. I've always been complimented by girls that they love how I taste and smell :)
No need for harmful antiseptic mouthwashes
