Been watching it on Netflix

I was hoping to learn about the history of North America. What are the current thoughts on NA possibly being colonized by European Paleolithic people? The Clovis Culture and did they come from Europe by following the ice sheet across the ocean during the ice age ? Where did they go? The history of the Indians, how did they survive 10000 years ago? WTF happened to the Mammoths etc... Instead this Wolter clown is making shit up in his effort to make real scientists look like they are totally unaware of any of his findings like Europeans were mining copper from the Great lakes 3000 years ago. Yeah, mainstream science missed that one. Fuck off.

Worse than Ancient Aliens. Entertainment is one thing, wretched science disguised as real is another. The History Channel should feel ashamed.

BTW, the Knights Templar buried the Holy Grail in Nova Scotia in 1398. Stay tuned.

I watched many episodes of this show when it was on commercial TV and came to the conclusion that like books, many of these Academic types are getting away with misinformation, in order to make a buck. Their sensational theories sell and work well with television, but they lose all credibility with real world academics, unwilling to sell out to the sensationalist crowd looking to make quick money. These clowns should lose the alphabets that they earned in university for shucking such fair.

Wolter conceded that America Unearthed is dead, and he said that History Channel executives told him that the reason is that “you’re too smart for History.” Wolter said that he is actively seeking new television opportunities, including a potential new History Channel show about Knights Templar and Freemason conspiracies.

I find that these types always bring something up, but never bring their premise to fruition, just spewing their facts, their interpretation of the subject and at the end of the show, they've really done nothing to prove their theory. I liken these types to Geraldo Rivera's shows, the Al Capone secret basement hideout one, a lot of build up for nothing.

Discovery and History channels have both fallen into this sensationalistic crap over the years. They've degraded their programming, pandering to the stupidity of the YouTube generation, while those of us who like good history or science stuff lose out.

The only way they can get me to watch is if they went back to doing re-runs of McCloed and The third watch.

Just saw another episode

The story of a tomb of an Englishman of the twelfth century found in a cave in Arizona outback

How is it possible to believe that someone at that time, was able to navigate across the Ocean then cross half way across a foreign continent then cross an inhospitable desert and then die and then be buried in a cave?

No explanation as to how any of this was done. His shows are interesting, cant wait to hear his next whopper

That's the point of the show, is to make you think it may have been possible !

The 12th century really wasn't that long ago, and it is proven that Europeans were in North America as early as year 1000. I don't find the example your citing here as being all that unreasonable

Source?

The point of the show is to make $$$$$$$$$ with unfounded claims backed by bad science that attract gullible viewers

They are entertaining though (in small quantities). I will admit part of the entertainment I get is laughing at their ahistorical claims.
