In the lower picture, judging by the vegetation it's the spring migration. I'm there at least four times a year, know it intimately. Pretty sure I know at least two people in that picture.

Middle of May for warblers and other passerines, early fall for hawks.

I'm pretty sure it is the west side of the island (Gulf of St. Lawrence side) but regardless it most certainly is the Cabot Trail.
