Yeah, Kids in the Hall was great. I can only imagine that you must be seriously warped, in a good way. I could never figure out which of the cast I thought was the most twisted.
Actually, my all-time favourite show was The West Wing. The first four seasons, written by Aaron Sorkin was, for me, the best written television that I've seen.
As far as sitcoms go, MASH is my favourite.
And no list of my favourite television would be complete without Star Trek, both the original series and The Next Generation.
These are two of my favourites although I prefer the earlier seasons of Big Bang.
I didn't watch Seinfeld during its run because I was still fairly young. It was more when I was in my twenties that I started watching the reruns and became hooked. lol It did shape many of my views on the world. (Don't forget Festivus is on the 23rd!) I have all 9 seasons on DVD.

Up till Game of Thrones the only show that I never missed an episode was Married with children. I owe a huge chunk of my PC resistance to Al(4 touchdowns in one game)Bundy.
King of Kensington,. starring Al Waxman. The Beachcombers, starring Bruno Gerussi. The Red Green Show. Pig and Whistle.
All of that listed above is false, but those are the only Canadian shows I can think of outside of Hockey Night in Canada lol. We used to get Red Green Show on the SBS (ethnic broadcasting) in Australia and I loved his helpful hints ("if the women don't find ya handsome, they should at least find ya handy"..."if it ain't broke, you're not trying" )
But for real, the show that was most influential to me was the old Monty Python series. It got me to look beneath the unthought of assumptions we make in everyday life about human interaction ('everytime you say the word mattress, Mr. Lambert puts a bag over his head. Other than that, he's perfectly alright"). Plus loved the fine fighting wines of Australia. Real emetic fans will enjoy....lol...

Any show that has to add laughter to let you know some thing funny just happened or was said. I find it insulting. Here's a clip of BBT without any laughing. The pause between when they speak is to allow the laugh track to play. I am not impressed.

The 80's were a reactive decade, Married With Children and Metallica became popular due to the cloying falsity of The Cosby Show and Bon Jovi. The later two were cash cows and totally disingenuous.
The best show of all time has to be The Wire, like Star Trek: TNG, it's slow to build. The ST:TNG episode Conspiracy (second last episode) saved it from cancellation after one season. S1 of The Wire is mostly exposition, but everything changed after Omar said these word: " ya come after The King, ya better not miss".
I nearly stopped watching 12 Years a Slave after the first half hour, they kill off Michael K Williams (Omar).
