Trump is a protectionist, he will hinder the return of normal diplomatic relations with Cuba.It is said that the Cuban diaspora in Florida voted massively for Trump.
P.S. Wonder if Trump will make a statement?

Here's the thing. Cuba is a dictatorship. If Trump plays nice with Cuba, the liberal lefties will accuse him of supporting dictatorships just like they accuse the U.S. of supporting Saudi Arabia.Trump is a protectionist, he will hinder the return of normal diplomatic relations with Cuba.
The Cuban government in the last few years has slowly been moving away from pure communism. They do have a private sector in Cuba and it is growing at a pace (very very slow)that they are comfortable with both the government and the people.I thought this guy was never gonna die, dammit:

Supposedly his little brother is much more open to foreign investment and capitalism, which is a good thing.
I hope this opens up the markets more
Several times is an understatement. The CIA has tried over 50 times (documented) and failed every time.Good on Castro to survive until this time even though he was a murderous racist communist violator of human rights. The CIA has tried several times to murder him. During an operation at a UN Hospital in NYC, one of his testicles was cut off purposely.
racist? How so? Murderous well, what revolution can happen without a bunch of killing....esp when the incumbents are killers.Good on Castro to survive until this time even though he was a murderous racist communist violator of human rights. The CIA has tried several times to murder him. During an operation at a UN Hospital in NYC, one of his testicles was cut off purposely.
In public they might be grieving but in private or with trusted friends they can say what they really feel and many will be feeling the same as those in Miami. Most of those people who are educated, if they are lucky enough to find a job, make the equivalent of 10 cents an hour, working 40 hour weeks they take home about $20 a month.Cubans are grieving, they have lost a father figure who was with them for a very long time. He was a hero who saved them from a brutal dictator, but was misguided in his socialist policies which left many Cubans in want. His brother was more open minded to capitalism.
Under his rule, all Cubans were educated for free, had free health care, and were even given a monthly supply of food and goods, and I believe shelter. It was supposed to be his vision of Utopia for his people.
Those in Miami who are out celebrating his death are clearly reacting very differently to their brothers and sisters in the homeland.
Like father,...like son,...the commie nut doesn't fall far from the tree. What a shameful statement from PM Trudashian
Take one every 3 hours for FAST relief!Like father,...like son,...the commie nut doesn't fall far from the tree.
FAST
It was paradise!Cubans are grieving, they have lost a father figure who was with them for a very long time. He was a hero who saved them from a brutal dictator, but was misguided in his socialist policies which left many Cubans in want. His brother was more open minded to capitalism.

Fidel Castro was a controversial figure but he was also a great man.
Cuba was being ruthlessly exploited, it had become a American Mafia playground. Fulgencio Batista was the dictator but the real power was Meyer Lansky.
Terrible mistakes were made along the way, The Bay of Pigs was the worst. Because of it Castro sought protection from the USSR and didn't blink at having Soviet nuclear missiles installed on his island. That ruptured Cuban - American relations until the Obama administration. Without it Castro could have found his way toward democracy after the fall of the USSR. But there are some things he got right. Before Castro, Cuba was illiterate, now Cuba has an 80 % literacy rate. Also Cuba has the best medical services in Latin America. Most of all Castro wasn't a sociopathic demagogue like Stalin or Mao.
RIP Fidel.
Reading PM Justin's reaction and comments I am embarrassed as a Canadian.
What a shameful statement from PM Trudashian
I'm perfectly lucid Helm.He was not a great man. He was a brutal dictator and you are obviously insane.
I'm perfectly lucid Helm.
Castro was a great man, his social programs speak for themselves. He was not a brutal dictator like Stalin, Mao or Pol Pot. Anyone who's read my posts about the PRC knows that I'm no fan of Communism. American foreign policy drove Castro to the course he took, just like Ho Chi Minh before him. To Americans, the people they led were mere wetbacks and gooks.
