"You have a dream, you got to protect it"
This scene comes to mind every time I hear that question.
When a struggling parent teaches an important lesson about the pessimism that surrounds us all, it is persistently trying to keep people from leaving the comfort zone
to go after their goals and dreams.

DiCaprio accidentally cuts himself (it is a real accident) when he slams his fist on the table and breaks a glass but continues the scene

Kerry Washington was not expecting blood on her face and her repulsion seems realm because it is

well done DiCaprio !

This is the first scene I thought of. It brings tears to my eyes, even with just a four-minute clip.
I don't understand the scene at all.

Was she blind before? Did they know each other? Were they lovers?

I'm guessing they were lovers, and she was blind. They broke up after he lost his job and became a bum. Then he saw her?

It is very moving, nonetheless.

Watch the movie. Really. Take some time, don't multitask, and put up with some of the aspects of age.
After all these years, I find it remarkable.

Peter Sellers and Herbert Lom were perfectly matched in The Pink Panther series. Lom's list of credits is long and distinguished, most notably this:

I just saw it online for free. What a delightful movie. Even though it's black and white, and has no recorded sound, it was highly entertaining. Chaplin was a funny guy.

I thought a better ending would have been the following:

The "blind" lady after getting her sight back is repulsed by the bum and is mean towards him. She shoos him away. A hurt Chaplin walks away.

Ahhh...in my younger days I was in love with the late Italian actress Laura Antonelli. I would go to the foreign movie theatre and watch her latest film. This clip from the movie, Malizia (1973), highlights the reason why I was infatuated.
