Can my wife check my wifi Internet logs for terb?

a close friend got busted recently;
the other half suspected some time ago; did a credit check; got suspicious and engaged a 3rd party.
devices were used; evidence was found for several months ; help from others were engaged...
in response to your statement as far as would you want to be in a relationship with someone who checks up; no however what I am saying is be careful and keep everything clean... I never expected so much to have been done to gather evidence;

I am suspect of this story. ISP's are notoriously difficult to deal with and warrants are required even to speak to them, especially after the Star expose on rogers. That's how they treat the police. If she hired a PI who followed him around and seen him in and out of hotels- that's another story. But to get his surfing info. even if he's moderately careful? very difficult.

I was taking a one day course on secure accounting and as part of it the instructor asked about securing info...then pulled out something called a "sniffer" or something like that... and he then popped up onto the screen all the web sites attendees at this workshop were currently on for the router that served the workshop room....whilst of course attendees were using their tablets/laptops to take notes....lol...I was sitting up front but was afraid to look behind me for the beet-red face of the guy who had 'youporn' open on his computer...(lol....land's end, nordstrom, youtube, newspaper sites,, espn, and a bunch of others I can't recall...all running on someone's computer...). Maybe a VPN would prevent that...

Half of the replies in this thread are just so idiotically wrong

You do not need to be anywhere close to technical to review router logs (many these days are idiot proof with nice graphical menus even an old person can use it)
Your ISP will not hand over detailed browsing history without a court order
Uninstalling the browser does nothing to cover your tracks
Using privacy or incognito modes are a bit safer but again can easily be tracked by even someone with moderate computer knowledge
Using a password to lock her out of pc or router is just fucking stupid (unless she is even dumber)

VPN can be a good stopgap IF you are technical enough to know what you are doing
Simply installing one is not the end though (and if you think it is again no idea)

Terb itself will block you if you use a good privacy program (sad but true) so all the above posters will know (if they did it correctly)

Just wondering about the credit check.

What did the other half find on a credit report that would arise suspicion? Did this person have an additional credt card for nefarious purposes that the spouse wasn't aware of (and that came up on a credit check)?

Well, if your friend is so concerned, he shouldn't be doing it.....but then I guess we would all stop.

If he is concerned that she can use that against him in court, infidelity doesn't carry the same weight as it used to in separation and divorce.

Yes she could. She can either log what you're doing via the router, or she could set up any given computer to log your activity (many ways on pretty much every platform). Don't worry about the ISP, she'd probably discover whole new levels of run around for that.

What you can do:
1. Download your router's manual and see if she has logging turned on. If you don't think she's keeping an eye on you, turn that shit off.
2. Google for: "Logging internet activity on <YOUR OS>" and see if any of the stuff from the first couple of pages of that search is installed / turned on.
3. Installing and uninstalling browsers is crazy. Just use private / incognito mode in Firefox or Chrome, and don't keep bookmarks or store the passwords.
4. Always leave a little 'dirt' (porn that won't bring you too much shame) behind.

What every perv should have done before they met their SO:
1. Always have user accounts with passwords and you phone and computers. On computers have guest accounts. The most simple reason for this is that you, 'hate other people messing up your stuff'. (And make sure you follow the above steps.) Remember to log out and set timers for password locking.

Also, assume that any work device (phone or computer) and the work internet connection is being monitored, and act accordingly. That is unless you ACTUALLY know what you're doing. Odds are if you're reading this thread for tips, you don't know what you're doing.

In that case, here are some safety precautions one can take:


1. ISP won't hand over data to your wife unless your wife is RCMP/Csis/police. The main focus is to secure your internet browsing history.
2. Download a new browser and use it for hobby purpose only. Set it to "never remember history" so it automatically deletes all browsing history upon closing the browser. I suggest a more obscure browser such as a brave so your wife won't even know it is a browser.
3. Using VPN is overkill. Whoever your wife hires probably aren't competent enough in INfoSec unless she spends big money which is unlikely. Do this only if your wife is savvy in tech.
4. Download a virtual phone app to make appointment. Never use your normal text message app. Turn off notification. My female friend busted his husband texting an escort.
5. You can get a second phone but that's even more suspicious.




It is hard to get caught if you follow the above advice. You're SOL if she employs PI to tail you which is hard to defend unless you know you're being watched.
