Man was chilling on his porch. Cop confronted him and began questioning him, accusing him of breaking in to his own house. The man asked why he was being confronted for no reason. Cop got pissed and arrested him. Cop resigned before investigation could be held.
I can only imagine what it's like dealing with cops when you're black.
I am Asian, and my experiences with cops has been largely negative. Not so much in Toronto (except one case where the cop was a total dick). But in the States, it's really bad. I'll give you just a couple examples.
1)I was pulled over for speeding. I was driving my friend's car, which had plates that didn't belong to the car. The cop pulled me over and was very rude. He asked me, "Do you work in a restaurant?" What kind of question is that? I'm sure he asked it because I was Asian. He then had my car towed, and left me stranded in the middle of nowhere. He then pointed to a restaurant and said, "There's a restaurant over there."
2)A group of us had just gotten out of the car in a parking lot (four Asians). A cop confronted us and asked what we were doing. We said we were going to watch a movie. His response was, "You better hurry, the movie starts soon." Obviously, he had no clue what time the movie would start, and was just implying that we should get out of the parking lot, as if we were there to cause problems or commit a crime.
I find that American cops are extremely condescending and usually on some kind of power trip.
