Raptors Win Raptors Win ... Take that Kevin Durant :mod:
solid first game for all except for the TO's. POetl and Siakim looked energetic and somewhat more skillful than I expected. 15th spot will be a contest as some of those 905ers looked functional at this level. Let's go Raptors!

.....and welcome back TW's Gif for the ages...!

Big Papa Smurf

Siakam looks like a steal at 27. His game reminds me of Jerome Williams. He needs to learn how to shoot free throw s, but that 2nd hop and one-on-one defense against Durant has me drooling at his potential.

Jakob Poetl showed his mobility on defense when he got beat by Pachulia, and recovered. Good work on the glass as well.

Sullinger was solid on the glass, but he needs to abandon that 3pt shot and post up more.

Terence Ross also looked good. If he continues to play like that, he could win 6th man-of-the-year year.

I'm really excited for this season.

We may all disagree on a lot of things on this thread but when it comes to Bruno Caboclo when is this experiment going to end ... A zero night in his 3rd Raptor training camp ... Our 1st round pick had a 4 for 6 night which is a positive and T.Ross looks like he had a great summer ... With all the money being thrown around he knows with a lot of work he may get rewarded with a big ass contract after this one ...

Saw parts of the game last night. Ross did look much better, but, it was an exhibition game! Lets see what he does when it matters. Powell is ready, rookie draft picks certainly do have a lot of upsides. As you said it is time for Bruno to shit or get off the pot, He still looks like he is 2 years a way from ,you know! Maybe put him in 905 for the year and see if he starts to figure it out. Have to look at the stats and see if that tells me anything. Enjoyed the Dr. J interview.

watched parts of the first half, Raps playing a lot of subs except for DeRozan while Clippers played their starters. DeRozan was doing pretty much anything he wanted as was the Clipper team offensively. Bebe played reasonably well rebounding and some good long passes. No other Raptor worth mentioning at that point. Believe Heaslip and others played in the second half as I don't recall them while I was watching. Broadcast was the Clippers broadcast team and of course they were pumping up their boys, but it was an interesting change from the Raptor broadcast crew.

I am guessing at this, but the impression I have is Bennet did not give 100% when sent to 905, while the other 4 were putting forth an effort. I think they were looking for progression from him and did not get it. IMO he was horrible anytime they played him.

The fact 3 organization have given up him could mean your right . Although when Raps give up on Bruno I think he will be out of the league .

Again this is speculation on my part, Bruno is still here because he was a first round pick, and a real surprise selection, Masai just wants to prove there is something there even though I am not sure anyone knows or sees what that something is. I think both Bruno and Bebe have to prove they belong in the league this year.

We tend to forget how young this guy is. 21, second youngest player on the roster, that may also be the reason they are hanging on to him as he still has time to develop, but he has to start showing that there is talent to develop real soon.

Wow !! who would have thought two years ago that two cities like Clevland and Toronto would be playing in a Conference Final in two separate sports ....

^^^^^ ... And let's hope that the BJays get some redemption for the Raps..!!:applouse:

....... Hey TWalker (and your sig of course..!:yo::encouragement: who's always welcome anywhere) and all the other punters out there, are you all looking forward to ProLine NBA basketball? Looks like someone somewhere worked out an agreement with NBA to allow it starting this year.

Is it just me but saw on the tube that Raps won 56 wins last year and I said to myself oh yea they did do that . This team didn''t get weaker this summer and so a repeat season isn't unreasonable to expect ..

Watched bits and pieces of the game. I really wanted to watch Sullinger but he sat, so am really not sure what they are doing at the 4 spot. They are giving Bebe a chance to earn the back up to JV. Be interesting to see which Bebe shows up when they play for real. The two #1's look all right, lots of raw talent. They beat Cleveland without James, and the Raps rested DeRozan so it really proved nothing from a fan's point of view. I am sure the coaches saw it differently.

Without Biyombo the Raps are weaker defensively and rebounding, and there's no insurance if JV gets hurt. I'm not convinced, yet, that Sullinger is an adequate replacement. Hope he can prove me wrong.

The only way that the Raps can get better than last year is for Ross to have a break out year, but that's more like a wishful thinking than a possibility.
