Yah... I vaguely remember when someone named Steve Jobs ran Apple.... People were excited at launches he ran.

Is it just me, or has every single new IPhone launch been basically a better camera and screen?

I hope this new product launch causes a serious drop in price on the 6.
I think it may be time to hop on the iPhone bandwagon.

Never had one before.

Any thoughts?

Eh, wait for the iPhone 8 (2017) which will be the 10th anniversary edition. Oh wait I own stock in Apple, go out and get 10 right now and tell all your friend(s) about it, then when the 8 comes out get 10 of those too.

I wont bash iphone. Im not a fan, but dont go out of my way to trash them either. I do have a question though. The headphones plug in to the lightning port, as does the charger. This means you cannot listen to anything while charging. Might not be an issue for some but i know i often have my phone charging while listening to or watching something on my phone.

Actually that's only the case for standard head phones, not the head phones that come with the iPhone 7 (known as AirPods) which you can listen to music while charging as it's wireless. however, there is a greater chance of misplacing or damaging the wireless headphones with this option.

The thing I like about the iPhone and Macs in general are they are pretty simple to use and come configured for the average user.

They just work.

YES, Android phones have many better features and configurability options. If that it important to you and you like customizing your phone system to your exact preferences, and want to invest the time (or just like) in tinkering, then Android is a great system for you. Certainly there are many, many hardware options which also have superior specifications and at the same or lower price. Therefore better value.

But, for me... I just like it to work without tinkering. And it does. Never hiccups, never does weird shit. And I can easily figure out things with it.

Buy one, unlocked, from Apple's website directly, not through a carrier. Try it for a week. Then if you don't like it you can return it within 30 days.

My $0.02 or in Apple cash equivalent... $0.03!

After my experiences with my Iphone 6+ which just ceased working after 16 months and Apple told me to "buy a new phone", I highly doubt that I will be giving Apple any more of my hard earned money.

Fuck that.

Yeah, that sounds like a real nightmare. Apple does often bury their head in the sand over some known, identified defects that they simply won't acknowledge or fix. Until they get sued as is happening with the problem you have.

Sadly, this kind of corporate behaviour is not limited to Apple. So, pick your poison.

Cue the anything Apple is hand delivered by God fanatics !

I think I think stereo bluetooth which has been the norm in most stereo/headset applications anyway. The only time I use the jack is on a plane. Apple has also included a free adaptor to those using a headphone jack to connect to their stereo. Not as disruptive as when they changed the power/audio connector leaving users in the air. It makes sense to me.

I believe i read that they will be coming with the airpods, for.people who want to use the new tech, but also with a lightning to aux adaptor for people who want to use their conventional headphones. if you are an audiophile and want to use your superior headphones, you will be able to..you just wont be able to simultaneously charge your phone

Okay that sucks. Your phone is discharging while you are listening to your music instead of just grabbing it and leaving with it fully charged. There must be a work around.

No idea. No intention of finding out either and im not an iphone user. As another post mentioned, iphone suits many people perfectly, it just does not suit me. regardless of any manufacturers claim, todays phones have shitty battery life. If i know im gonna stream a show, a wi stream to a tablet. Sometimes though i just want to get caught in a viscious youtube cycle or listen to music on my phone. When that happens i always plug my charger in

I'm just going to be getting the airpods. They've run out of creativity and are just like Samsung now just focusing on the camera and useless software stuff I'm never gonna use.

The Samsung stuff is getting better.

I actually use Knox. I put all my banking apps in Knox and I use the browser inside Knox for things like terb.

I have my work email and regular stuff OUTSIDE Knox, contrary to what Samsung expects you to do. Then my sensitive personal stuff inside Knox.

Then I can hand my phone over to anyone and they can look through my shit and I'm not worried about what they will find, since Knox is locked. I use the smart unlock stuff so my phone easily unlocks and then key Knox protected by a PIN with an aggressive policy so it's never unlocked.

Note, I don't use SMS or phone calls for anything I'd want to keep private. I use an app for that, inside Knox.

On older phones Knox could be bypassed by hackers but on newer phones it's a lot more secure, supposedly even more so on the newest devices coming out of the Samsung/blackberry partnership.

Google similarly seems to be going with the USB-C for their next phones which will also be a pain in the butt as the old micro-USB that many devices use can't be shared.
