Wow, what a great race, coming back from 7th to win GOLD! First swim gold in 24 years!
And the Cdn womens 4x100m relay has a great chance to medal, for her 5th. Wow
I'm definitely expecting her to be the flag-bearer for Canada during the closing of the games now. Kudos to her for her youthful exuberance as well...

Prior to London, Canadians were miffed that Sydney Laroux chose to play for the USA. Janine Beckie chose to play for Canada and the Americans are sore about it.
That's what happens with duel citizenship. Canada got the better deal, Beckie was born in Colorado but her parents are from Saskatchewan. And we got the last laugh, Beckie looks like a female Marco Van Basten (no hype).

I may be wrong but I don't think Germany is out. Canada is playing at 6pm today against France.

Cindy Klassen won 5 medals in speed skating. Penny O looks like she will match that in the medley relay.

On paper we have a great relay team from the individual 100m races:
Free: gold
Fly: silver
Back: bronze
Breast: 5th
In theory, this relay team could beat the US. BUT the gold and silver was won by Penny O, so we will need another 4th swimmer. I think Penny will swim the fly and Chantal VL will do the free and we will battle Aussies for silver.

The Frenchies defensive game plan was sound, keep the ball away from Beckie. She got isolated with the French defender just once - Giovinco would be proud.
