I'd like to know who the woman talking in the video is. Was she or the videographer ever arrested for extortion?

What's wrong with this picture?
1) Video made without Rob Ford's knowledge or consent.
2) Ford was in a private home.
3) Legal case was dropped (and yet they released the video to the public?)
4) Video released to the public with the Ford family's consent.

Mike Ford just won Rob's former ward, where I once lived.
I won't dignify that video by watching it. In spite of his daemons Rob did some good for his constituents, especially during the blackout of 2003. He didn't live long enough for me to forgive him for his bumbocloterry at Steak Queen. But at this point it cowardice to kick a man when he's not around to defend himself.
Btw I stopped getting invitations to the family BBQ.

The evidence in any court proceeding is public.
As it should be in an open and free society.
In some situations a Judge will issue a publication ban on certain evidence for specific reasons. In this situation, the publication ban was lifted because there was no longer any chance that the evidence would influence or prejudice potential jurors. The publication ban was not ordered to protect the reputation of Rob Ford. And it woudl not be continued to protect the dearly departed's memory.

The "Ford Family"! Sounds so noble! The Royal Ford's have ZERO legal standing in this matter. ZEEEEEERO!
This is the same Ford family who lied, lied and lied saying that there was no such video! And that Rob Ford did not smoke crack? The same Ford family that besmirched and slandered the reputation of honest reporters doing exactly what the press is supposed to do?
The video serves an unintended purpose in clearing the reputation of the reporters and newspapers that published the story that the Mayor of the largest city in Canada was a crack smoking, alcoholic drunk driving bigot who spent his free time with members of criminal gangs who put the citizens of Toronto at risk for all the violence and problems that surround gun and drug trafficking.
Breaking the story proved that the Mayor was vulnerable to being blackmailed.

Nice sound bite but this is not about Rob Ford. This is about protecting society through an open and transparent legal system. That video was evidence in a public criminal trial. The ONLY reason it was under a publication ban is to protect the accused extortionist's (Lisi) right to a fair trial by jury. There is no protection for Rob Ford keeping his crack habit secret.
But it does serve an unintended purpose. It proves that the reporters who were just doing their job, were not liars and that the newspaper that published the story was not libelling Rob Ford when they reported he was consorting with notorious members of a violent criminal gang and doing drugs with them. Despite Rob Ford's slanderous statements that they were lying.
Agreed, freedom of the press has to be protected. It's the cornerstone of a healthy democracy. The Ford's are not the Erdogans they'll have to own up to it.

I agree, double yawn. The Star the whole day had a big section about this trumping all the other news including the local terrorist.
It served up a debate not much different that those arguing for Trump. While it seemed clear Ford was lying - people still enamoured by his homophobic rants would go to Ford for their answers. Boy were they wrong.
