Meatloaf said it best: Two out of three ain't bad.
This is true but feels like we missed an opportunity to really step on Baltimore to extend their losing streak to 6 and create some doubt.

Now we have slumping Houston next looking to break out after they just got swept by Detroit.

Here
I hate when the Jays go into extra innings and just burn through their pitchers like every inning is the last one. Then they start to run out and/or run into someone that's still pitching cold and it burns them.
Roster size and management are also very important parts of the game!

That's baseball!

Fuck, our version of Cheech & Chong (Chavez & Morales) did it again. I'll take Hendriks and his 4.58 era and 96 mph fastball over this Chavez clown any day.

Chavez doesnt even look like an athlete, he looks like he should be El Chapo's drug mule.

I'm gonna take the positives out of this game, and thats Sanchez, Benoit, Osuna, Grilli and Cecil all pitched very well. Sweeping the O's was a bit unrealistic, they are a good ballteam

Chavez to the Dodgers for Bolsinger. Also acquired Feldman from Astros for a minor league pitcher.

I like the Feldman trade. He's a definite upgrade from our drug mule

Since they couldn't get a decent starter, it seems Sanchez will likely stay in the rotation.
Which sounds all dandy. Until you remember he was throw 91mph fastballs in the 7th inning yesterday. Hope he's alright and it was a minor mechanics issues.

Yup, I think Jays brass will monitor his velocity every pitch though.
If its a recurring problem they will have no choice but to move him to the pen and *shudder* bring up Hutch

Francisco Liriano could be a difference maker. He's having a bad year but he put up very good numbers when Martin was catching him.

Liriano for Hutchison
Wow, mustve been right at the deadline.

So my spidey senses tell me they'll rest Sanchez in the pen at some point, and then try Liriano as a starter for a while.

Imagine Shirley Bassey singing it :

BOLSINGER, to get him, they didn't give up much
Let's hope he's clutch

And the 3 years before that??

http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/l/liriafr01.shtml

I'm guessing Shapiro thinks he can sign enough pitchers who will do a Grilli 2.0.
Sooner or later he's gonna run into one who gives up a bunch of 5th deck homers, and that will be the end of that
Liriano's problems have been mostly due to control, or lack thereof. It's hindered him most of his career but it's particularly high this season for some reason. Possibly a mechanics issue. Our pitching coaches will have their work cut out for them that's for sure. The other arms we got - Bolsinger and Feldman - are average at best. I don't think we did enough to keep us in contention with the likes of Cleveland or Texas. But you never know.

do we have any more guys named Chavez to trade? If Sanchez goes to bullpen, what is his role? He is actually a slightly better pitcher than Osuna....and definitely better than Grilli (notwithstanding his success so far)....and Sanchez is too good to be 7th inning guy. I always get nervous when the manager has to think.

If pete walker turns Liriano around, I will take back everything I have said about him
