Unless you are really into sports and are willing to do hours of research I wouldn't.

My buddy does some(more now on the pool type than direct betting) but he is quite knowledgeable and spends a lot of time reading up on things.

If you must bet pick a sport you love but bet With your head. Spend time trying to find out things like nagging injuries, clubhouse rumours and the like. And you have to stay on top of it.

Only thinking about throwing your money away with sports gambling when you have a SIZABLE after tax income. You shouldn't consider betting when you're poor. Your affordability to lose on a daily basis will have to be well thought out. How much can you lose NOT how much can you win against the house or the bookie.
Do not tempt to play the game if you still have short term/long term debts. i.e., mortgage. You also need a lot of DISCIPLINE of bettings so that you could stay out of trouble. BTW,I am a 'recreational' sports gambler with proline for the past 15 years:couch2:
Please don't tell me that I am crazy playing Proline. I don't like the convenient of having an online account or access to a bookie. Too much conveniences that when they could get you in more troubles!

Bet on what you know.

I was able to recoup my losses (Italy vs Belgium) by taking the odds on Iceland vs England at the Euro. I no longer wager on NFL football since I don't know enough about the teams.

And I also wagered against George Soros, but that's a different story.

I mean which service should I use?

The problem when betting is if you win you think you got it figured out and if you lose you want your money back

It is like a drug as you get a rush of adrenaline that feels good

it is also like alcohol as it is an escape

Yup, bad idea for some for sure

I gambled in Vegas and found it repetitive and boring so I walked down the Grand Canyon instead

If you handle it responsibly it is much better than something like Profline.

- Convenient
- Many more interesting betting options
- Much better odds

Let's put it this way -- if you consistently made $100 of total bets each week online you will likely lose less than if you made $20 of bets each week via Profline. The likely loss on $5200 of total bets online is $234 based on the standard take and assuming you are performing at the random luck level (50%) Parlay style betting gets you nice payouts on Profline, but generally just results in a donation each week to our government.

Now of course Profline significantly reduces the dangerous and risky aspect of gambling.

- Convenience is good when your responsible... convenience is bad when you are addicted.
- You can put much more than $20 on a single game and lose much more

I think you need to ask yourself how much payoff do you need from a bet to make it interesting. The lower, the better. If it's just the joy of winning a small bet , or making a bunch of small high odd bets (like I do in golf) Basically, can you be responsible enough to accept that in the long run you will likely lose some money, but cap it a level which you will not lose much. (cap your annual refills).

Try your luck with the Thoroughbreds at Woodbine its fun and if you have patience and can understand the games it can be very profitable! Above anything else only gamble what you can afford to lose...

From my experiance baseball is the best sport to bet, although you would have to be patient. I usually just bet serie finales by choosing the better team to win 2 out of 3 like if tou have a good team playing a shitty team and series is 1-1. I would bet the better team to win the final game, sometimes money line but usually i take the run line to reduce the damage from the juice if i lose. Or another trend i like is going against the series sweep. This has worked well for me every year and i bet about $300 a week. So far im up about 2g's but once footbalk comes i tend to lose it all.

Online websites like BoDog, Pinnacle, etc are notorious. They r convenient and safe but really addictive. U start one bet and u start getting info on many other sports and action.
Baseball is the safest sport to bet in.
The worst is NFL. I love NFL but it's a emotional roller coaster.
U can try your luck in ufc and boxing.
NBA NHL are ok to bet as well. Try to choose multiple teams to even out.

But yea if u hobby with MP and SP, best not to get into something else which will consume u

I don't bet either baseball or football but why would baseball be easier. Same house cut... Same you against the field. Is it too many sharps? Too many betting options?

I bet only on golf and college basketball and some college football. Sports I enjoy watching in the first place.

Starting pitching matchups are good predicters of a game. Betting on aces to win, that type of thing. Easier than hockey, basketball etc.

I don't see it. Starting matchups do help you to predict who will win. but the money line is adjusted for the matchup. On the surface it seems like a way for a good baseball fan who is a casual better to make his picks... which of course is the type of bets that sharps look to take advantage on from time to time

You still make money. Even if it's less than even. Or wheel two good games to increase the payout. That's how the pros do it. Other sports are tougher to predict.

I use sportsinteraction.com for bets but mainly small bets with big payouts or round robin. I average only $7-$10 per ufc event nothing crazy, mainly to add some extra excitement to the fights. Iv been betting for quite a while with just a small 50 bucks deposit I made couple years ago, made just tiny 1-2 dollar bets with big odds and went up to 300 then back down to 80 as I increased the size and got greedy. Its not a life changing experience but if you know your sports really really well and take the guess work out of it, it becomes more like a risky investment than a bet.

I find baseball the toughest sport to not only bet but to cash in on DFS. I've been most successful at NBA for some strange reason - was probably up about $1200 last season.

My favorite site to use is William Hill. Instadebit is the payment provider you want to use as well, headquarters right here in Toronto at Bathurst and Queen.

http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/en-ca

http://www.instadebit.com/

It's a totally reputable, long-standing site, listed on the British Stock Exchange. You can trust them and I've never had a problem getting a payout.

Please, please, please for the love of God stay away from Pro-Line. Terrible odds way below what any respectable online site will give you, no single game bets, lack of variety of sports, lack of bets within bets, it's just terrible. Don't do it, they are stealing money from you, don't you give enough to the government already?

As far as the betting goes, I find tennis the most profitable for myself, I like the fact that it is one-on-one and there are less variables to contend with. I like basketball too, but I usually lose money on it. Still, it makes games way more entertaining for me.
