Beating a guy a guy who sexually assaulted a woman? If they weren't cops I'd bet the charges would have dropped entirely.

I see you like vigilante justice, I am not surprised. They cops should have arrested him and charged him. Funny how you support vigilante justice, all those guys who are shooting cops think they are vigilantes....

This is a bar fight as far as I can tell. A guy gropes or sexually assaults the cops wives/girlfriends. He gets roughed up ( I think the paper said a broken nose... I could be wrong)

Was it captured on camera? I assume it was.

Meh..who cares... A run of the mill bar fight.

A demotion from Sgt to Cst..for two years... That's a $30-40K fine..no?

so you think its ok for a cop to get into a bar fight then press charges against someone....and then still be a cop..that is fucked. Have you thought about what the term "peace officer" means? If this guy cannot control himself, it ok to give him a gun and put him in stressful situations? geez.

That's the police for ya. A combo of union protection, and a buddy-buddy system where good cops tolerate the actions of bad cops.

Not sure this has anything to do with police protecting police. This was decided in a criminal court.

Even an independent, non police associated Judge saw this for what it was and did not send them to jail.

meh... Move on.

there are Wayyyyyy better things to deal with police going wrong on....

They were convicted, and then the police tribunal decided to demote them..instead of firing them. How much in civil litigation will this cost Peel? Good use of tax payers money?

.

it won't cost peel taxpayers. Yes the criminal court convicted... As I said no jail time..... So criminal courts did not find it that egregious.

The guys will pay their own lawyers ( or maybe Union???? But no cost to taxpayers) And it looks like they pled guilty at a police hearing, so a very short process I'm sure.

Again.... It sounds like a bar fight with some mitigating circumstances. Not losing sleep over this one!!

If they were convicted of felonious assault I would say they should be fired. If I do the same thing I lose my accounting license. Fair is fair.
If they plead down to a misdemeanor then I think the punishment (loss of rank) is appropriate.
