I have a printed photo in high resolution that I ordered from a website that will not sell the digital file itself (which is 4000x6000). So I took a photo of the photo with my 24 megapixel camera, and the result is not as good as I had hoped (it is not as sharp and light reflection seems unavoidable). I scanned it with my scanner at 600 dpi (though the scanner is about 10 years old the software is the latest version), and the image is a bit better but I know it is not as good as the original digital image. So what are my options now? Will a new scanner (and a photo scanner in particular) give an image as good as the original? Should I go to a professional photo scanning service in Toronto? I only have this one photo I want to digitalize.
